Do you think it's a silly idea to install this unit before my combo regulator/water filter so that the regulator won't be damaged? The sand blaster is used for wet applications. ?

No, we aren't being silly. In most cases, it is used after an airline regulator.

I've had the water separator attached to a CA Air Ultra Quiet Compressor with a 5. 0 hp. The tank has been a 5 gal. tank for the past three years. Because I live in Arizona, the only humid periods are during the monsoon season in July and August and during some of September. Blowing my motorcycles dry with air after washing them is my preferred method. The discharge nozzle did not emit any noticeable moisture. I like how simple it is to drain it after use. It is normal for a lot of water to come out of the water separator drain during monsoon season. This product has met my expectations.

There are no instructions with the Separator, which is a good thing

As far as I can tell, my air tools do not contain any water residuals. Instead of mounting it on the wall, I mounted it on my compressor. As the manifold is 9 inches tall, I also ordered an 8-inch pipe 1/4npt to raise it up high enough for.
