Would you be able to provide this with a lower pressure gauge reading, such as 25 psi max or close to that?

The lower full range gauge you could use, but if your pressure source range exceeded the range of the gauge, then you would have to say goodbye to it. It is feasible for your adjustment to be jammed into a small fraction of the range of adjustment even with a low-pressure air source.

If you adjust it down, will it release air, or will you have to remove the hose to get it to do that?

The pressure settings need to be lowered to prevent air leakage.

How does the pressure gauge work? Can you adjust the pressure manually or do you need to unhook it to achieve the correct setting?

The regulator is doing a good job Use the tape at your own risk

For my old Sanborn air compressor, I used this to replace the regulator. I found that it worked fine, despite the fact that it was not a drop in replacement for the original. The following warning should be noted The tape that comes with it should not be used. After disassembling my assembly and retaping with real Teflon tape, I had to disassemble my assembly. Window screening tape was included along with it, which gave it all the properties of sealing. Being a tightwad that I am, I threw the rest away before I got to the end. If you purchase the regulator, you should have genuine sealing tape or sealant available when you buy it.

Repeatability seems good and I liked how the nips are close together. Included is the gauge. If working with threads, it would not be a good idea to apply the teflon tape included in the package. In spite of additional wrappings, it is very thin and did not seal well. It ended up that I had to disassemble the piping & valves We're going to put liquid or paste pipe thread sealant on it.

It's good at what it does! have not had a chance to test how accurate it is, but I have used it on my compressor for a few months it works as it should and it's an excellent deal!
