At this price point, it is very surprising that the regulator/auto drain is built so well (or at least seems to be). Specifically, I needed a simple regulator for a low pressure (60-80 PSI Line 90 psi) off of the main air HVLP taps are not suitable for this application- There is no need to dry a heavy desiccant line or anything like that, but due to high humidity and temps, my lines do produce a little water (most is trapped in the drain taps) that doesn't always get drained. I was pleasantly surprised to notice the quality and popularity of this little guy and I was happy to see he was so reasonably priced. This appears to be a well-made gauge, as it is very sturdy. The metal parts seem heavier than I expected, the glass bowl is thicker than I expected, and the guage appears to be solidly constructed. While I am aware that some appearances may be deceptive and I didn't disassemble everything in order to determine overall quality, this device "would seem" to be of good quality. As far as accuracy is concerned, I did not hook up a calibrated flow meter to check the accuracy of the regulator, hence the 4 stars. I will update this review if the product does not hold up well.
It has a good air regulator and filter, as well as a water trap that automatically The collection glass can sometimes clog up with oil or crud, which can stop the auto drain from working, but if this does occur, you can turn the bottom screw to manually drain it, or you can remove its glass and clean it out to restore it to working order. For those who use a lot of air, it may be more efficient to invest in a manual drain that automatically drains when depressurized. But if you need something that drains while pressurized and while you're still using air, this is a great option. When using it permanently, I recommend installing an air shutoff before and after it so that you will be able to depressurize the device without bleeding off all your other air lines when cleaning it. It has quick connect fittings on it and I use it with my portable compressor because I have another filter stack for my stationary compressor, but this one was $100 more and it did not auto drain, so I am very satisfied with the value of this product.
I fixed it. There is an old air compressor in my house that has been When my old compressor breaks, I have to Frankenstein parts from newer models and perform some kind of magic so they can fit on it. The part that did the trick was this one. I have been using this part for years and it still works One of the things I like about this part is that everything I need is integrated. As a replacement for the original components that failed, this part is an actual upgrade. With this one, you'll get the benefit of three individual parts but at a much better price The cost of repairs was reduced. My compressor fired up right away after I screwed on a few other T connectors to get different spacing between the unit and the regulator. Once I had all those parts screwed on, the air pressure was very high and I could blast it.
I had problems with this unit from the moment it was installed. It leaked air from the air release hole at the bottom of the unit. The unit is designed to be connected to the small compressor on my airbrush so that a maximum of 60 psi travels through it. I find no reason to sell a faulty product, and I do not think there is any way of fixing it, as far as I'm aware. Please send this item back to me as soon as possible!.
My application needed a small air pressure regulator and this did the trick.
The regulator is small, but delivers all the benefits of a monster-sized regulator by keeping my air line moist and debris-free.
In my case, I went with a small, out of the way mountable model since the trap is not cheap or poorly made, it will self-empty, so I use it one of two times with the small, HVLP sprayer that I own.
There is something wrong with this thing! I was provided with a defective air gauge upon arrival. But I went ahead and installed it A leak emanates from every joint of the device.
Within a few months it began leaking air around the top seam, and no matter how tight I tightened the screws it still wouldn't seal. Since it is now worthless, it is no longer useful. As a result of the issue, I discovered A crack has appeared around one of the screws in the top half of the housing which makes it impossible to tighten the top half sufficiently to prevent leakage. Since there is no fix, it will end up in the garbage can I wish I hadn't wasted my.
