For an extended dining room, I do not have a stud in the ceiling. Can these Toggler drywall anchors be used to hang a Swing from a drywall ceiling?

Definitely not designed to support this amount of weight.

Is it possible to cover my hole with a metal or rubber washer before inserting the toggle if it is larger than 1/2"?

I'm not sure, but I believe that once you see the device, you'll be able to make a more informed decision based on the Toogler's head and the size of the hole you're using. If you're going to use a metal washer, you might want to go with stainless steel if the location will be exposed to moisture. Aside from that, I don't see why a washer wouldn't be used, unless it causes the screw head to protrude too far above the wall's surface.

Is it possible to support a heavy (91 pound) mirror by putting 6 of these side by side in a 5/8" drywall?

Yes, that is correct. Put a few of them in there, at least six. A score of eight or ten is preferable.

Can I use these to secure studs in metal?

Yes, but they're a little more difficult to push through the metal, so they're best for Drywall.

IF IT DOESN'T BREAK DURING INSTALLATION! So far, I've installed six of these, but in the process, I've broken three or possibly four of them. Most other reviews seem to agree on this point. I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the fact that each lost anchor costs about $1. br>br>I believe that clearer instructions would have prevented me from making the following mistakes: 1- The main tip I'd give anyone is to be very gentle when pushing the bolt into the wall after you've pushed the anchor into the wall and make sure it's engaging with the threads. br>br>The main tip I'd give anyone is to be very gentle when pushing the bolt into the wall after you've pushed the anchor into the wall after you've pushed the anchor into the wall after you've pushed the anchor into the wall after you've pushed the anchor into the wall If you're having trouble turning or if you're exerting a lot of force, You've probably snapped the back off the anchor because the bolt isn't engaging the threads cleanly, and if you push, you'll snap the back off the anchor and lose a fairly expensive anchor. br>br>From what I've seen, if you've got the bolt engaged properly, you can hand turn it into the threaded portion inside the wall fairly easily, and you'll only need a screwdriver to tighten it up at the end. br>br>Apart from that, it appears to be a great product for supporting a lot of weight when you don't have access to a wall stud.

MANUFACTURED IN EXTREMELY BAD CONDITION! The Togglers are an excellent design concept. They'd make a fantastic pair. IF THEY CREATED THEM TO BE USABLE. br>br>I wasted seven of the twenty screws trying to get the screw to engage, only to have it push the retaining bar to the point of snapping off and crashing into the wall with a clunk! br>br>At first, I assumed the hole placement was incorrect and that I was screwing them in at an angle, which prevented them from engaging. WRONG. br>br>I was tired of screwing the grab bar into the ceramic tiles, then having to take it down, adjust and open up the retaining flange, and screw it back in, over and over. Because of poor manufacturing practices, I was too tired to notice that the threads had to be chased first. br>br>After seven failures, I decided to take it seriously and try to figure out what was wrong. I simply shrugged and said, "Oh well," because I still had extra for the job. That is no longer the case. br>br>I now have to pay an additional $21 to complete the project. br>br>IF YOU PURCHASE THESE, USE A 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 - 1/8 TAP 20 TIMES TO FIND THE THREADS! THE SCREWS CAN BE USED TO FIND THE THREADS, BUT THE STEEL IS CHEAP AND SOFT. ALL IT TAKES IS A LITTLE MORE CARE AND A PAIR OF PLIERS.

This set of Drywall Anchors was ideal for my project

In our master bathroom, I was installing three Safety Grab Bars, one in the toilet area and two in the shower. After doing some research on how to do it for the shower tile as well as the tools and parts needed, Because I couldn't hit all of the attachment points on the wall studs during my installation, I used TOGGLER SNAPTOGGLE anchors for the ones that were off the studs. The drywall installation was simple; on one end, I was able to secure the bars to the stud with four screws, while on the other end, I used three TOGGLER SNAPTOGGLE anchors and the bars are securely fastened. I bought 1/8" and 1/2" Tile/Glass drill bits for the shower area, using the 1/8" to check for studs and the 1/2" for the ones that were not. I was able to use one regular screw, but at each end, I needed two TOGGLER SNAPTOGGLE anchors. These went in without a hitch, but there was one minor snag. The other bar was installed on an outer wall with a lot of insulation, and I had a problem with two of the TOGGLER SNAPTOGGLE anchors here. I pushed them through the 1/2" hole too hard, breaking the plastic near the toggle, preventing the screw from engaging. I realized that the insulation was preventing the toggle from properly seating itself. To allow the toggle to sit flat on the inner drywall surface, I pushed the insulation back and away from the hole with a screwdriver. Overall, once everything is finished and buttoned up, the bars are solidly mounted, with three or two (with one wood screw) at each end holding the bars to the wall.

For plaster walls, this is a good option

These were purchased for the purpose of installing a closet system in my old plaster-walled home. If you can't directly work with a stud, nothing seems to work in these walls without destroying them. Overall, they've been a huge success. The plastic ziptie part did not break for me. Drilling a 1/2" hole in the wall is a little risky, but once installed properly, they hold very tightly. My only criticism is that some of them didn't do a great job of tucking themselves in against the wall. To get the plastic piece that sits against the wall very tight, I had to use a flat head screwdriver and pliers. When you try to tighten the bolt too tight, the inside part spins around, making it difficult to line up the inside part perpendicular to the lathe. Another minor issue was that some of the bolts were not screwed in evenly. Before you put them in, make sure you test them to make sure they'll fit.

I'm head over heels for you

I was sadfaced after mounting a 47-inch TV on the wall with metal studs. Through a hole in the metal stud, I planned to use old-school toggle bolts or molly bolts. This would undoubtedly work, but the snaptoggles have just made the job a whole lot easier. I made these as a test because I couldn't believe drywall could support that much weight by itself. It's only been up for a few days, but it's sturdy, and I'm confident it won't fall down. While threading it, I managed to break one off into the wall, but that was most likely due to not pushing it far enough into the hole I made in the wall, allowing some play, which eventually caused the plastic portion to snap. User error aside, the product is fantastic, and the hardware that comes with these is reassuring.

Securely Mounted 65-Inch TV Because I didn't have clear studs in my drywall and was on a budget, I canceled my professional installation and went with this product, which had simple toggles

I used a 1/2 inch drill bit to make a hole in the walls. I inserted the toggle and fixed it so the anchor lay flat against the inside of the wall, and it worked perfectly. I tightened the strap against the wall by pulling it. Before I snapped the plastic sides off, I double-checked that it was close to the wall. Screwing in the screws was a breeze. In ten minutes, I had the mount up and running. This is a fantastic product that has been properly installed.
