As I was building a Norton smoothing plane, I was in need of a handscrew to clamp the plane blade. After searching on Amazon, I came across several options among which I selected this one because it was stainless steel and had a threaded screw of I found the fit and finish to be excellent, although it was a little pricey. I think it makes a nice impression in front of the rest of what the tool is made up of.
This piece of material measures 1/4" to 5/16". There is not enough threading on this page. The knob is connected to a solid shaft for a full 1/4" to 5/16" before it begins to thread. the angle of the photo obscures the view since there is only one photo. Despite appearing to be of excellent quality, their misleading product description is the only thing that can be excused. Now I just got a new one that is the same as my old one. Everyone seems to be ignoring the situation. It's got to go back to me We do not exchange any more.
