These are not available at the large lumber box store! I inquired about the availability of 1 inch drywall screws at a large lumber box and was told they didn't exist

As a result of the oil on the screws, the screws were not cleaned properly and the box was stained. It took me a while to be able to use the dry wall screws because the oil had to be washed off with a solvent.

At the hardware store, you can't purchase coarse screws. The goods they sell are of lower quality and do not stand the test of time. A coarse thread is the most effective way to secure something to drywall.
