Zinc-plated or galvanized hardware intended for outdoor use WILL RUST. It'll only be a matter of time before you despise yourself. Use deck- At the very least, use type coated screws. However, if you spend a little more and opt for stainless steel, you will never have a problem. It will be well worth your time and effort.
I tried to be cautious, but it was difficult.
It comes in a plastic box with a snap-tight lid, so it does have a cover.
They will function, but only to a limited extent. Expect 30% of them to be broken or stripped 30% of them to be broken or stripped

duty-related applications (Think of balsa or basswood as examples of soft woods. ) ) I attempted to use these to attach a steel angle stiffener to the corner of a bed frame and had four out of six screws snap or have their heads strip before deciding to discard the entire kit; had I known these were made of zinc, I would have saved my money and purchased slightly more expensive stainless steel instead. br>br>As a result, I'm giving it a one-star rating. The phrase "best quality" appears to be deceptive. In addition, to respond to the frequently-asked question, question posed: I was manually tightening these.
I would have given it one star if I hadn't read the reviews prior to purchasing it. br>br>PRO - I was expecting a mediocre, general-purpose product. br>br>CON - I was expecting a mediocre, general-purpose product. br>br> The variety of screws and the fact that it came with a case were both appealing to me. br>br>CON - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. The downside was that when I used these screws for a medium-duty project (repair a chair), they stripped like butter. br>br>For the price, you might be fine, but if you want something a little sturdier and that won't strip, go to your local hardware store.
It makes no difference if you try to screw them into warm butter; they will strip out. I drilled pilot holes according to the chart provided, but the screw head stripped out before I could even get it a quarter of the way in. To get them back out, I had to use pliers to grasp the head. I tried again with a bigger drill bit and got about halfway in before the screw heads stripped out. Finally, I was able to get them in by drilling a pilot hole three sizes larger than the chart suggests.
There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to these screws: Of course, they're cheaply made, and I was surprised to see such a wide range of lengths (1 - 4 feet). For a given screw length, 5mm) is sufficient. However, given the price, this is to be expected, and they are adequate for general household and shop projects; however, if you require something more precise or that will last for years, you should use one of the higher quality resources. The most important thing to remember is to open with caution. The plastic wrap is particularly irritating, and once you've removed it, it's all too easy to open the box, as I did. If you don't pay attention to top vs. bottom, the entire contents will spill out onto the table, the floor, or whatever is in front of you. As I was going through them one by one to return them to their respective cubicles, I noticed the difference in length. Live and learn, as they say. br>And, since the paper sheet displaying the sizes is loose in the box, affixing it to the lid with a dab of glue will allow you to see which sizes are in which compartment.
Returned! Prior to writing this, I noticed that the "case" received high marks, which surprised me because neither my wife nor I were able to open the plastic case. I suppose I could have used a screwdriver to pry it open, but the contents would have spilled all over the place. br>br>I waited another day and tried again to see if I was missing something obvious, but I can't see anything, so I'm left wondering if the case design is poor. Whatever the problem was, I returned it because I didn't want to go through this hassle every time I needed a screw. br>br>As for the screw quality, it's unknown because they're still securely fastened in the puzzle- case.
" I just checked, and based on the link, it appears that this product has been replaced with another. You've got to love it when that happens. br>br>I got a 240-piece assortment set for my purchase. The screws worked as if they were made of butter rather than metal in general. Even with predrilled holes and swapping out different bits, I couldn't keep the heads from exploding. br>br>I can't vouch for the current "Drywall screw assortment," but they're made by the same company that sold me these Fisher Price - wood screws of good quality.
The deceptive advertising has caught me off guard. These screws are completely useless. br>They strip in a matter of seconds. Before you accuse me of misusing them, consider the following. 1. br>br> They were used on wood (albeit thin wood)br>2. br>3. I used the proper screw attachment. I even went to the trouble of using a compact drillbr>br>They all stripped, and some of them are now stuck halfway in the wood because I couldn't get them out. Not only do they strip, but the majority of them don't even have grooves to grip anything, making it feel like you're screwing in a freakin nail. I'm not a fan.
The packaging is lovely, but the product itself is a shambles due to the overly soft screw head. Every time I try to use a screw, it only goes halfway into the wood before stripping. Every screw I try to use has this on it. Now it's time to remove a half-inserted screw with a striped head. FUn? These screws, on the other hand, are a complete waste of time. Despite the fact that I attempted to use four different sizes of screws, I believe I am entitled to a refund. More importantly, Amazon, which prides itself on providing high-quality services, occasionally employs a firm that is unconcerned about quality. Amazon! They need to be discarded. "QUALIHOME" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA! The only thing they have going for them is their name.
