So, I realize this may be common knowledge based on the description, but due to the lack of a complete description, I assumed/hoped the advertised thread length was 1", which is NOT the case. br>br>FYI, the thread length is about 3/4" and I needed a thread length of 1" because I had a cap washer, so this did not work for me.
While they accomplish their goals, they aren't quite as good as those found in HDX. These have a rounded edge to the head, whereas the ones in HDX have a much sharper bevel. The biggest advantage of these is the price, which is not only lower than HDX but also easier to come by. These were purchased because HDX was out of stock and they couldn't tell me when they'd be back in stock. I'll put up with it because I use this particular screw frequently.
These were purchased to serve as expansion screws for miter track locks that I made myself. These are similar: It worked perfectly. br>br> Two edges needed to be flattened a little to fit in the sliding track, but this prevents them from spinning when tightening.
I bought them for my Panavice and they are a quarter inch too long, but they still fit and function. If you need them for the same purpose, they are ideal and only protrude slightly from the base. I will buy from this seller again because their hardware is well-made and a perfect fit for any job that requires a 1/4 by 20 screw.
Fasteners are made of stainless steel. I believe they strip out a little too easily for what they are, which is why I gave them four instead of five stars. I ended up removing the heads from four of the twenty that I used. The Allen head, not the threads, has been stripped yet again. For the sake of comparison, I used a 12v electric impact.
The allen head stove bolts are very nice. Perfectly countersunk. In town, it's difficult to come by. This kind of thing is no longer carried.
To mount the router to the table, you'll need screws. My table was made for the flat head and tapper.
It was ideal for securing seat bases to stainless nutcerts on my Jon Boat.
