In the five-pound box, there are a lot of nails. I had no idea the nails were so small in comparison to a regular head 6d nail. Due to the stainless's softness and the nail's thinness, expect to bend quite a few. I had to predrill the holes because I was using them on Hardie cement siding. For this application, Simpson has a slightly thicker nail, but I ordered the wrong ones. If you don't hit the nail square, it will bend even if you predrill it.
These were exactly what we needed for our cedar siding installation project.
They were extremely well-made and performed admirably. I intend to keep a supply of these on hand at all times.
They have a lot of staying power.
