Can these nails be used to rescreen my porch? I would like to know how big the nail head is. ?

A 3/8" diameter. While I agree that a nail would split the wood into which it was driven, I have concerns that it would split it further. In reality, it is not designed to be put in the edge or close to the edge of a board, but rather into plywood or composite sheets.

The local stores had roofing nails that were an inch or longer, but not longer when shingling a 3/4" thick deck. It is crucial to have nails that will not penetrate the deck material as the underside of the deck is exposed before I It was great to have a product of a size that wasn't popular.

Big box stores do not have the perfect size
