I've found that the best nail to use to nail hardy siding is a roofing nail. The coil nailers we use are in fact I have had a lot of bent nails when I tried to use 16-gauge finish
If the nails are to be used outside, stainless steel nails are the best option.
It depends on the gauge of the nail and the degree of slope that Senco makes different nail guns. I have used plywood nails that have 20 degrees and 16 gauge, as you will see from the pictures. That's the nail your Senco uses, isn't it?

Cordless nailers such as the Dewalt nailer work well with these. That's how I completed my project. Just make sure you load the right files! You must drive the nails in the right direction or else the side of the nailer will break away.
Their product was great, but how they came shipped was not. Box came in a box, but it did not have packing materials, so the nail boxes broke open and all the nails were scattered. In any case, they will still get into the gun without any problems they will now need another box to store them. The product was good, but I wouldn't buy again.
The dewalt battery-operated finish nailer I used for this job used these to attach brick mold to a door I was installing (didn't know you could buy a door without brick mold I was able to fire through the gun without any problems. Nails are great at a great price. Much cheaper than the hardware store and they come to your door. I don't see how that could possibly be beaten.
I received the nails in a box for delivery and they came without defects. I used them with my home remodeling nailer and they worked great.
