Questions & Answers

Will a nail that is 2 inches long penetrate steel framing that is 18 gauge?

It is the first time I have used it for metal but I have nailed oak to 1 1/2 thick and popular, so I can only guess, but I don't have any hard evidence to back down this belief.

Are you able to use this with Porter Cable's FN250B ?

In my current Porter-based project, I am using these I am not sure of the model number of this cable finish nailer.

In the course of building a fence, can these be used to secure pickets to stringers?

That would be my opinion. You need to back the stringer with a little force to sink the nail Furthermore, I would use a triangular pattern on the nails.

Picture not what it appears to be
3/5

A picture showing heavy duty is inaccurate and incorrectly states that it is This item is NOT what it appears in the picture, and that's a huge disappointment. This is akin to buying a Lamborghini and receiving a Geo Metro instead. The fact that both boxes of nails have images does not mean that those images should be displayed as they are supposed to represent the item for sale. This is a bad.

Powered by a galvanized steel motor, which can only be used indoors
3/5

There are no galvanized parts! On the Amazon website, the nails are pictured as galvanized or heavy duty. However, the nails I received do not state that they are galvanized or heavy duty. For a picture of what you will receive, click here. It is not mentioned that the wire is galvanized or heavy duty. Below is the response from Dewalt. In short, they are in part galvanized (not hot dipped, but electro galvanized). It is the porter's responsibility On the box it says that they are galvanized, but also mention that "for indoor use only. " It is imperative that Amazon updates the description because it says the nails will resist rust, while Dewalt claims that they will not. Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm glad you found this helpful. Thank you for your patience as we try to clarify things. If nails are used outside, only those with a "G" suffix should be used because they are fully Due to the galvanized finish, the heads and points of the clips have exposed steel during manufacture, allowing steel to oxidize (rust) and stain.

It was a good job they did
5/5

We used them to install drywall that came already wallpapered in a beige pattern, and we did not want the drywall screws to show through. My Bostich finish nailer worked great with the DeWalt 16 ga nails, and there were only very small indentations in the wallpaper, which you could not notice if you were.

The nail was intact when I received it
3/5

I probably would have given this product a 5* based on the nail, but the box was severely damaged and the nails were broken up when it arrived it was very challenging to use it this way because the box was open wide.

Applying the final coat of varnish to the My order was for the 2" and the 1" Half an inch
4/5

The nails were the perfect size for our nailer, and they were of There is only one complaint I have, and that is that both boxes were packed loosely into A second box during A box had come apart, and loose nails were all over the place. It's not much fun to load two or three nails at a time into the nailer- As a result, we have given it four stars. It wasn't necessary (other than in my review) to complain about the nails, since many of them were intact.

Be straight and true in your fire
5/5

Your tool bag can hold it without falling apart since it is well packed in a box. Long nail strips are harder to load than short nail strips. It is hard to miss nails when they are firing These are of better quality than those available in typical home improvement stores, and do not cost a lot more.

Rather than hammering nails, you can punch
5/5

This trim installation tool is easy to use! When hammering by hand, old nails always pop out or move around, so no hold is achieved. In the long run, I think this will be less expensive than nailing by hand.

I don't have any jams in my nails- An assault weapon
5/5

I really like the finish of the Even though they are unlikely to be heavier, I feel like I'm using a heavier brand. There seems to be no problem with their hold. It really took a lot of effort on my part to pull out the mistake nails. I don't have any jams in my nails- An assault weapon.
