The exterior of the case shows zinc. I do not know enough about metals to say for sure, but hasn't zinc and galvanized steel had a reaction over time? I read it eventually had a reaction. ?

A galvanized steel is a steel that is coated in zinc.

Does the trailer have axles and springs that are rated?

Yes, I would say. There is a 1/2" bolt on each. A good deal of strength.
