Wow, there are a lot of people speaking up who have no idea what they're talking about. There isn't such a thing as a high-quality product. Brass bolts with a high strength Brass bolts are only used in very specific circumstances, such as joining door knobs. Brass has a delicate texture. Is it even possible for brass bolts to meet the requirements for Grade 2? It's something I seriously doubt. These bolts aren't brass. br>br> A zinc coating is responsible for the color. They're made of high-strength heat-treated steel with a rust-resistant zinc coating; zinc coatings are great for outdoor use, even in the rain, but not for use underwater in salt water or anything. br>br> I haven't even bought this product yet, but I already know everything because of my "Y" chromosome. Four of the twenty were sheared off. A 3/8" ratchet and a wrench were my tools of choice. I'd like to believe that I'm capable of breaking a 3/8" grade 8 ratchet bolt, but I'm pretty sure they were defective.
I bought these bolts for a Jeep CJ5 restoration project because I couldn't find the exact size and grade I needed at my local hardware stores. Use in conjunction with a grade 8 solid fastener solution- Despite being "difficult to come by," it is necessary.
The hex head bolts were of excellent quality, but I was particularly pleased that they were packaged in a sealed plastic bag INSIDE a sturdy cardboard box (rather than loose and banging around inside the shipping box).
Grade 8: To replace corroded fasteners on a boat trailer, I'm using these. Fasteners in Grade 8 will be extremely strong. It was exactly what I needed! Thanks!.
These bolts aren't of the Grade 8 variety. I tried torqueing them down to 80 ft/lb, but they snapped before I even got to the 80 ft/lb mark.
When you have to go to three different hardware stores to get 20 of the same nuts, it's a bad day. I got 50 grade 8 3/8-inch nuts. With just one click, you can get 16 nylon locking nuts at a great price and receive them quickly! Thank you! br>br>.
