I'll write a review as soon as I can. I'd use negative numbers if I could, because this clearly qualifies. Having worked in the marine industry, I am well aware that stainless steel is not magnetic. br>This product leaped from my grasp and landed on the magnet. I was forced to use it because I was in a hurry to finish a project. DO NOT BUY! I paid a high price for a phony product. At the same time, I ordered lock washers from a reputable company, which were not magnetic. DO NOT BUY, as I previously stated.
The quality of this stainless is poor. When I used three different types of nylon lock nuts, seven out of eight bolts seized, and no matter how carefully I started and tightened the hardware, it would eventually get to the point where the but would seize on the bolt and I couldn't move it. Not an impact driver, but a socket was used to tighten this. I had to use an impact driver to remove the bolts because the nut would not loosen even a little, and the bolt would simply break. The extra torque from a locknut appears to be too much for this steel, which appears to be soft. It's just not good enough. br>br>I went to our local Ace Hardware and bought new bolts. I was able to tighten the lock nuts on them with an socket driver and an impact wrench, and none of them seized. 'You get what you pay for,' as the saying goes. ' It might work for regular nuts, but it won't work for nylocks.
It's simple to strip. Metal that is extremely soft. It is simple to strip.
Stainless steel isn't the best I've ever used, but in a situation where aesthetics are critical, it's perfect. When torqued down on a project, I'm impressed that they don't break as easily as others I've used.
I'm pleased with the selection. perfect.
It's great to have such a good selection.
