Questions & Answers

This gadget works with Genie model 2560/M, right?

It is not known to me. Genie is not clear to me in which model it There's no problem with the part, it's 22 years old, and it works fine!

Despite having no model number on the genie intellicode, I have it. There are three types of models listed in the owner's manual is, isl, and ic. Will this work? It looks right, but how do we know?

Among the screw drive units I know of, this carriage will work with any one.

Are Intellicode ISL950 units compatible with my system? Can the 36179R carriage be used with it?

It is possible to use either 36179R or 36179R on the ISL950/A.

What is the magnet for the limit stop on this carriage part (36179R)? It looks like part 36179RS also exists, and I was wondering if there were any differences. ?

Since I did not receive anything with that item when I purchased it, I am sure there must be another component. That lever that stops the door was a lever that points down and moves when a component in this photo pushes against it, resulting in the door closing.

If there is a screw in the middle of the track, then this should work with all models. It's easy to replace because the pull string is used to remove the carriage from the track. Get some grease (manufacturer approved or white lithium grease, available at 105) and grease the entire ribbed contact surface of the new carriage with an 1/8" thick strip. The new carriage should be operated by the new string. By pulling out the cotter pin and pulling out the bolt, you can detach the old carriage from the curved black bar (which holds it to the door). On this step, there is no need for To slide a carriage to the end of the rail, pass it past the limit switch. This rail has a small gap between it and the wall of about 3-4 inches. Attaching the rail to the metal bracket holding it to the wall is done by a bolt with a nut. Wiggle the rail (with the bolt in it) an inch or so to the side to remove the bolt from the bracket from the rail while holding the nut with a ratchet. Continue holding the rail and lower it 2 to 3 inches so you will have enough room to slide the carriage right off. Do you have the pre-requisites Ensure the new carriage is greased and ready to be mounted on Insert the bolt into the bracket attached to the wall through the rail, allowing it to rise to the height of the bracket. Slide the black bar into the hole in the carriage and the bolt through the bolt, then slide the cotter pin through the bolt. Finally, attach the drawstring to the screw to secure the carriage to it. Ten minutes is all it should take to fix this. I've been using this product for a while now and it's great!.

I almost returned this item, but I shouldn't have done so

The 25 year-old needs to be replaced The garage door roller track needs to be undone, and the old carriage assembly should be pulled out, then the new assembly installed, the track connected, and the door is on! The new carriage assembly did not move the garage door, as I discovered when I installed it. When I tried to engage the screw in the up position, the carriage teeth would not engage. What's the reason? As a result of the inadequacies in the design of the mechanism and housing of this new carriage assembly. It was too low for the teeth to engage the screw on the track when they were in the up position. The screw was completely missed by the tool, indicating that it had to be at least an eighth inch Due to the fact that I was able to swap out the teeth assembly from the new carriage, I was able to use it with the old carriage mechanism. As a result of engaging the teeth, the issue has been resolved, and the garage door now works properly. If I had been able to return it, I would have, but since I had no option but to repair the garage door, I was glad to swap out the part. Nonetheless, I could not do that if it left me with unused parts for 2/3 of a new machine. This purchase feels a bit ripped off to me! This is not a product that I can recommend.

It's been about fifteen years since I bought my Genie garage door opener
5/5

We began having problems with the carriage some time ago, but we could either ignore it or ignore the occasional chattering and skips until a few weeks ago, when the door struck an obstruction on its way down and stopped working entirely without human Genie might have chosen to make this screw drive follower's alloy weaker than that of the screw drive itself in order to provide a convenient place of failure that could be easily fixed, as other reviewers have expressed. Allow the carriage to slide all the way off the To unplug the rail, you will need to disconnect it first. Install the new carriage and affix it to the new carriage. It was a 10-minute process. Thanks to you, the door opener now works nicely and does not make any weird pleasure to work with you!.

Exactly what I was looking for

Taking just a few minutes to install. If I have a problem with the car, I will entrust it to a mechanic, and if it is an issue at home, I will call a service person. Having said that, when my GENIE garage door opener stopped working (wouldn't go up when the button was pressed, but would go down when the button was pressed), I did some research online. As it turned out, my opener displayed the classic characteristics of a damaged I was able to open the garage door after the garage door made a horrible noise when it stopped working because the motor made a loud "clunking" sound before stopping. The information and reviews on the internet (including Amazon) pointed me in direction of needing a carriage. It's the only thing that would make me feel more secure. Where and what to buy if you already know what you want? My local home improvement store accommodated my need for an immediate part and allowed me to avoid having to wait for shipping (or paying for overnight shipping) so I tried to obtain it locally. I could not get any parts to restore it. They sell whole openers, but not repair parts. My order was fulfilled by Amazon, so I ordered this part. As always, the product arrived on time and was exactly what I had been trying to find for that part on The whole thing took me only 15 minutes when I included the time it took to find the socket wrench I needed. This is possible). I replaced the garage door opener, and it is now working flawlessly again. My garage door opener is quieter now than it was before the problem occurred. This was an extremely simple task and I was happy I did not hire someone to do it. I ended up saving about $130 bucks this way! The only regret I have is that I ordered the grease when I made my purchase instead of the oil. As soon as I can I will have to grease the carriage, as I do not want it to wear out too soon. When it comes to repairs, doing them yourself is a good idea if you are at all handy. I assure you that it is easy, straight forward, and that you will save a lot of money by doing it yourself.
