Questions & Answers

How will you attach a floating vanity with sink (total weight 165 lbs) to drywall with these? The six I will use will be distributed as follows. ?

I would suggest that you keep your hands off the housework, dude. As the weight is far from the wall, it is accelerated by the LEVERAGE. Let me tell you what's coming up Someone will lead onto the vanity and rip the drywall down from top to bottom. You should stop making repairs to your home. You can attach the studs with 3-inch wood screws by finding the studs (16 inches apart typically), then using 3 inch wood screws. When you attach a vanity weighing 165 pounds and lean on it, it WILL cause your wall to collapse. Thanks for taking the time to read my advice.

A minimum clearance of drywall is needed behind it, is there a rule of thumb?

INVITE YOUR TASK FORCE TO JOIN US THIS Thursday! As a minimum, there should be clearance behind the wall of Seven eighths"

How about putting up a TV mount, but the wall studs are strange - would it hold a 32-inch LCD? It should be well under 20lbs, but am I hoping to hit stud on one side? I may use 4?

A wall mount that has an articulating arm will not work. In order to use toggle bolts, the TV wall mount should have a lower profile and not extend. It should be fine at 4, but if you hit a stud on one side, all the You can use 6 if you think you will upgrade to a bigger TV in the future. If the anchor piece that goes behind the wall is mounted horizontally, can it be mounted that way instead of vertically?

In short, yes.

The TV is swung back and forth regularly from the dining room and living room to the TV and the snaptoggles are the best for it
5/5

Our 65" LCD TV swing arm, which was hung on a hollow wall above a fireplace two years ago, is made by Snaptoggle. Our TVs are rotated back and forth to face the dining room or living room with great regularity, and the snaptoggles are more than capable of performing for the use we expect. It would never have occurred to me that you could mount a 65" TV on just a piece of drywall and expect it to be durable, but this is absolutely possible. Additionally, they were extremely easy to install. The butterfly toggle does not fall back into the wall after being opened, so there is no confusion. It is worth a few dollars to invest in these because they work. Simple, elegant, and effective are the words that come to mind when you think of Snappoggles. You're the best!.

This is a very sturdy drywall finish if it is I used 2 to hold my bicycles up to 30 lbs, and it worked just fine
5/5

I have not yet tested heavier versions. It was the AV company that I ordered it from, not the other. It came with the full kit as advertised, and it arrived on time I use a hook system on drywall to hang up my bikes all the time. I found it to be very The hole you must make to stick the adapter through the drywall is pretty large, but if you make the hole too big you will have to rely on the screws that you are screwing into the wall for support.

Installation (1) You need a drill in order to make a hole large enough to fit inside the wall (around a 1/2" square, maybe a little bit larger). (2) Making the hole big enough for the metal part is not enough to allow the end of the plastic piece to fit If you make the round plastic piece fit flush against the wall, you'll need to make sure the metal piece fits in both directions (like a plus sign or square). I don't want that to happen! (4) Before breaking off the excess plastic, make sure the metal part of the zip is fully attached to the wall on both sides, as well as the plastic piece at the end. There will be no way of securing it if it is loose.

I was able to use them perfectly! Having to mount a 49" was not easy
5/5

I was able to use them perfectly! In order to mount a 49" flat screen on this wall, we had to install nothing but studs! Since our apartment has concrete walls and ceilings on the exterior, I GUESS they didn't need to put studs on the interior of the apartment? My toddler is still very young and I was nervous to put this TV up since I didn't want the TV to fall down on her. So I proceeded to pry this thing off the wall to see if it would hold the TV and it did just that! No one was able to move it! This has been up for weeks, and I feel much more comfortable having it up there than on any cabinet, anchored or not, for the sake of my toddler AND my television!.

The mount is suitable for 55" TVs mounted to plaster walls
5/5

You can find a video for snaptoggle that is less than 1 minute long if you aren't sure how to install. By watching that video, I was able to do it very easily. The plaster walls in my house are from the 1930's, and I don't think there are studs in the part of the wall I wish to hang the TV on. As a replacement for the hardware that came with my six bar mount, I used four of these. In addition to pulling washers from my collection, I also added some washers so that it could grab the tv bracket. I have my 55" Samsung TV in there. Although it is not the biggest of TVs, it is heavy enough to make me doubt its reliability. The site is available without any issues for the past few hours. Using 8 would have been fine if it had been a bigger TV. I didn't really notice the effect of the slide plastic part on the wall, but hey. In addition, the laths (the thin wooden boards that are behind the plaster) were able to take up the tension from the metal bar. Since I had a bulge in the plaster where the center of the bracket lies, I had to crank down a little bit so that it would snug up well. Ensure that your drill bit is 1/2 inch. Drill bits for 1/2" are not in every set of drill bits. There are cute homeowner kits that come with wood bits or hole bits that might work for your needs, despite the fact that you have to coax them out. Maybe you could open up a small hole with a smaller bit and use a small jab saw to finish it. With the drill bit set that I bought for another project, I was able to slowly open up the hole, which made the job a lot easier. In the case of drywall or sheetrock, a stud finder should probably work and you will not need the snaptoggle. In this case, simply use the existing hardware. purchased a stud finder without realizing that it was almost 1) I gave up with the stud finder and started drilling small holes, but never found a stud in 59" After flipping through a few Google searches, my wife found someone talking about toggle bolts when I was dreaming up a really complicated solution. Toggle bolts seemed to be the strongest option and they seem to be the right choice, so I ditched the other idea and started looking for toggle bolts.

There is something genius about these things
5/5

It is brilliant to use such small drywall anchors. It was time for me to mount my new 75" Frame TV on my wall, and I wasn't sure how I was going to secure the wall mount. Having to cut through drywall and then metal studs was not an option. These toggles were the best solution. It is as simple as drilling a hole, and then carefully pushing the toggle all the way through the hole at You will then need to pull it back toward you so the metal part is flush with the back side of the stud, then you can snug up the plastic ring and cut off the excess. In the last step, either place your TV mount over the holes or carefully insert the screws, taking care not to push the entire toggle through. It is possible to work the screws in snugly once they have taken hold, and they will probably hold at least a couple hundred pounds. I love it.

It is durable and easy to install
5/5

These were purchased for use with another application. We are installing our wall mount for a 55" flat screen TV with these. The area where we wanted our screen to be mounted has metal studs and is definitely not where we wanted it. It would be no problem for these four TVs to hold the heavy mount and TV. As you mentioned, I opted for 6 since the holes in the mount were already It broke off one of the toggles which became stuck inside. It's no big deal. These five worked like a charm! The product is definitely good.
