Only minor alterations were required to fit it into the case (slight bending), and one word of caution: don't over-do it. Do the soldering on the connector's outer part. If you do, you'll have a hard time getting the excess solder to flow around the outside of the connector and into the connector, preventing your plugs from plugging in.
As advertised, the USB ports are type B female sockets. Very well-packaged! br>br>Another thing to keep in mind is that As expected, soldering these by hand is a nightmare. Check to see if you have the right gear!.
You could shave it off with tin snips, but smaller ones are much better. For everything else, this should be fine.

On the Kindle, I swapped out the SMT charger. As expected, it functions properly.
