Questions & Answers

Is it suitable for use in the open air?

Ensure that none of the connections come into contact with water. So, if it's raining outside, you shouldn't use it.

Is it possible to use this to connect a 5000 BTU air conditioner to the extension cord?

A load of 1,500 (1,495) Watts should be no problem for this cord. I was just looking at the wattage for an LG 8k BTU energy star compliant unit, and it says it uses 700 Watts. So, unless your A/C unit is severely damaged, I doubt it could pull even 700 Watts with only 5/8th the cooling capacity of that LG unit. Any issues you may have will not be caused by the extra 3 feet. Unless it's plugged into a much longer cord with an equal or lesser capacity and isn't plugged directly into the wall, this cord will run.

Is this item listed by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL)?

It is ETL listed, as stated in the description. There is no UL rating for this product. RE-read the entire description- line.

Is it possible to charge my Fatmax battery jumper with this?

I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. My snow thrower is started with mine. "Most household extension cords" is also mentioned. It is preferable to use a heavier gauge.

Selected User Reviews For StarTech.com Power Extension Cord – 10 ft – Universal Three Prong 125V 13A Cable – Black (PAC10110)

I'm not 6 feet tall
3/5

I'm irritated to no end. While this extension cord appears to be sturdy, I used up some of my reward points on it, and it isn't 6 feet long. We're talking about the extreme end of each prong, not the actual cable, so it could be 5 ft 9 if it was pulled as tight as possible. I realized I needed to order an 8 foot while measuring. This isn't a six-foot cord.

(UPDATED JAN 24, 2018) Well Made, 13A @ 125V Or 1625W Capacity, Just Plug It In And It Works: The Startech 6ft Extension Cord is ideal for my needs
5/5

It's tough and well-made, with excellent connectors. It has polarized slots for devices with two prongs. It has a rating of 13 amps at 125 volts, which equates to 1626 watts. br>br>Having a shorter cord is sometimes preferable to having a lot of unnecessary cable hanging around and 6 ft. This product listing from Startech comes in a variety of lengths, which is ideal for my project. It's not rocket science to use an extension cord. br>br> I don't want to dwell on it too long. Startech makes a high-quality cord, and now that it's in use and I've written this review, I'm confident I won't have to think about it or be concerned about it again. PERFECT!br>br>UPDATE on January 24, 2018: br>The shop light that was powered by this extension cord died, so I replaced it with an LED model. I was reminded of how well-made this extension cord is while installing the new light. It's still as good as new after over a year and a half. In my basement work area, there was some dust and a cobweb that I had to clear out: Since then, I've purchased another for a different reason. I'm completely satisfied, and I'd like to reiterate that I believe this is a five-star extension.

This brand of power cord extender is very nice for the price, and it's perfect when you only need a smidgeon more cord
5/5

The plugs are heavy-duty, and the cord is a little stiff but still flexible - It'll most likely loosen up a little as you use it. br>br>I ordered a 6 foot length, and it appears to be fairly accurate. br>br>This will give me just the right amount of extension on a lot of my gear without adding too much clutter to the cords.

When the power is 6 feet away from where you need it, this is the device to use
5/5

On this one, I definitely void the warranty. My cheap range hood required an electrical kit, but those kits were as expensive as the range hood and were only for wiring it directly to the wall. As a result, I received this. I cut off the female end, stripped the wires inside, and wired it into the range hood after watching a few youtube videos on how to be a master electrician. The plastic is nice and thick, and it has a good amount of insulation. The inside wires are also well insulated, but there is no internal structure to prevent bunching and twisties that occur when someone who doesn't know how to coil a cable does you a favor by destroying your cable. This is a durable cable that will last you a long time if you don't chop it all up. I am a youtube electrician, so you can trust me.

For my small kitchen appliances, it's a great extension cord
5/5

I bought this extension cord so that I could place my microwave where I wanted it on my counter. I had to get a high quality extension cord that could handle the power draw from a microwave because the outlet was further than the 3ft microwave cord. This cord has worked great and the ratings easily cover standard home microwaves. Simply ensure that your microwave does not consume more than 13 amps from the wall. br>br>Yes, this power cord is 6 feet long. When you don't want 50 feet of cord strewn about your house
5/5

Sure, 25-foot and 50-foot extension cords come in a variety of lengths. BUT, for those extra 5 or 6 feet, I'm looking for a sturdier, heavier cord. That's a tough one. These are EXACTLY what I was looking for. I have a vacuum on both the first and second floors. It's too late for me to be lugging those things up and down the stairs. (As well as being a slug) yes)br>These cords were exactly what I was looking for. They're never in the way, tangled, or a nuisance, and with one on each vacuum cord, I can reach every part of my two-story home by moving the connection only once per floor. I used to have to move it three or four times before; now I only have to move it once. Everything was "just" out of reach, and I'd never pulled on a cord before.

This is my second purchase from this company, and I am pleased with the results
5/5

This brand has provided me with two extension cords, both of which are used in my living room for power recliners. br>br>In my living room, there are only four outlets without light switches. 6 total. As a result, I'll need to make some adjustments. br>br>This extension cord is perfect for the job. They appear to be durable and long-lasting. By no means does it appear to be low-cost. br>br>I made the decision to go with Startech once more. Especially since the one I had before was almost three years old and had served me well. br>br>As an example, if you need to extend the battery life of a powered device, this is a good buy; I plan to use it for many years.

The ideal 15-minute workout that you can count on for the rest of your life
5/5

This is one sturdy 25-amp power cord that is well made and very flexible. The load specs on this foot power home extension cord are ideal for a variety of uses around the house and in the garage. Simply by not abusing the cord, you can expect it to last many years and hundreds of uses. The fact that it is black is an advantage. It conceals all of the scuff marks and smudges that are picked up on a regular basis. up during regular use, particularly when you're in a hurry. It doesn't kink and coils neatly for storage. You've finally found the power extension cord you're looking for. Now go out and buy it so you can start working on those electrical projects you've been putting off. You won't find a better deal at your neighborhood hardware store or home improvement center. I tried, I tried, I tried, I tried, I tried, and I tried again Purchase from Amazon and have it delivered with Prime. (UPDATE: 6/3/'17). I recently placed an order for the 10-pack and received it. When I need a shorter connection run, I can use the ft version of the same power cord. I'll have a 35-inch screen, of course, if we're hooked up. Extension capability of up to ft- I have way more than I'll ever need in the house or garage. On the tenth day, quality control was carried out. The 25-footer had the same footer. footer. Everyone should get both sizes.
