These connectors are great for ribbon cables with 16 conductors

purchased these connectors so that I could make my own ribbon cables of custom length. In my case, I did not have the crimping tools to install them correctly, but I tapped the connectors gently with a hammer for them to seat properly. As these connectors work by cutting the wire as it is sandwiched between the pieces, it is vital that it is well seated so I can connect it to the router. A model that I made failed upon testing because it was not entirely seated. As a whole, they are great products that accomplish exactly what they are intended to do.

Most of the parts are fragile, making them break easily

It is astonishing how much they break when they are put together. Over 50% have broken while putting one cable together. Since I gave up on crimping, I am assembling the parts with a rubber coated vice. When I crimp the little arms, even when I am careful and take it slow, they snap. It has come to the point where I cannot be sure the cables I have assembled will survive being unplugged more than a couple of.

I found these to be an excellent price and they were perfect for my needs. As soon as they are snapped in place, you can't really undo them because they will break. However, when connected properly, they are quite sturdy. I was really impressed with this deal, I'll buy it again once I get through all of them!.

A few of them in the box were broken. That's not an issue, because I won't use all of them, but the ones I used worked great, had no issues, and had none after a year as well.
