This interface module is required for it to work because there are only two wires to connect. If you want this item then they sell a different one that comes with the thermostat, the interface module, and three sensors. Don't buy this thinking that you can just swap it out with yours. The value of this package exceeds what you would pay for each.
Despite numerous attempts to fix this issue, the product continues to malfunction. Each of these was about $250 and it lasted from 1 to 9 months. I have received 6 of these in the past 2 years. In the last case, I had it installed for 37 days before being told by Amazon that since it was outside the 30 day window, they couldn't do anything and I needed I had to contact Amazon after being told by Honeywell that I had to do so.
It only controls heating, cooling, humidity, dehumidifier, and ventilation using two wires a separate EIM THM5421R1021 must be used for other functions. These wireless sensors and redlink gateway work with this thermostat, which is sold separately.
It is not working on my unit and there needs to be a better breakdown of the product's.

Despite the good quality of the thermostat, I had to return it because it was a 2 wire control that needed an interface. It only got 2 stars from me not for the quality, but because I could not.
