The little amp works fine after it has been assembled. This is a nice little amp for a desktop or laptop computer. It has a volume control but no tone control. A 9-volt battery or a wall adapter can be used to power the amp. Because the solder points on the board are so close together, use caution when soldering components to the board. Assemble time should be at least an hour.
Although there are no instructions included with the unit, it is very easy to put together. It performs admirably in a large room, with plenty of power. It's not a preamp, but for the money, it's a fantastic buy.
These are some really nice little amps. Simple to assemble and extremely dependable. To put one together, it takes me about 30 to 45 minutes. The sound quality is about average; it's not a high-end stereo system, but it provides adequate sound and volume. They're perfect for Halloween costumes and props.
An unmarked resistor on the board caused the unit to malfunction at first, so an additional resistor was installed.
This was an excellent little trainer that also worked well.
I've had this issue before with components from the ic station. This is the second time I've ordered from them.
It was a good unit that worked well for my application. Building is a lot of fun.
