The ST-LINK/V2 is a debugger and programmer for STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers that can be used in-circuit.

To communicate with any STM8 or STM32 microcontroller on an application board, use the single wire interface module (SWIM) and JTAG/serial wire debugging (SWD) interfaces.

The USB full-speed interface is used by STM8 applications to communicate with the ST Visual Develop (STVD) or ST Visual Program (STVP) software.

STM32 applications communicate with Atollic, IAR, and Keilor TASKING integrated development environments via a USB full-speed interface.

A USB connector provides 5 volts of power.

Is it possible to use this as an Arduino Mega2560 hardware debugger?

ST semiconductor microcontrollers are supported by this debugger. AVR debugger from ATMEL is required.
