There is a total of 58mm of wire on both ends, and each wire is 23mm long. Approximately 26mm thick.
Irrespective of whether it is homebrew or not, you might have some sort of DC requirement. The circuit might work if you design it right for the DC input you need for your DC doorbell. A doorbell camera won't require much current and the wires could even be wired in parallel if needed. Unfortunately, I am not certain why this is the case.

I checked the diodes to see if they were good or bad, and they were all open connections with no continuity in either direction. By the 12th package, I hadn't even found a good diode. Stay away from them with a 10 foot pole if you want to buy this product or anything from them! Buying your defective products off the line and then selling them as good working diodes is terrible business practices. You should not do business with them. It looks like I will need more diodes but you can be sure they won't be manufactured by.
The box in which these kits come is excellent, and makes for a nice portfolio cover. The box is made of the same kind of plastic as used for portfolio covers. Labels are clearly displayed on the inside of the packages. These are the perfect size for your parts box, and they won't take up much space. Due to its many Schottky diodes and fast-reaction diodes, in addition to the usual switching and rectifier diodes, I decided to pick it up. This diode has been replaced with one in 4007. There was an issue with the lights not coming on when you opened the door. The situation is now normal.
Specifically bought this kit so that I could use some of the diodes as flywheel diodes for my flyback generator. As it turned out, I could get this kit with a variety of diodes for the same price as a handful of diodes suitable for my purpose, so this was a good deal.
