In high demand Polyethylene with a high density. If you have one of those in your kitchen, it is the same as a thick plastic cutting board.
A thickness of 3/4 inch
It is a black plate that I received
Heat guns would likely be able to do the job. Despite that, I would not purchase it. There is no way you can glue a screw in there so it will stay in place. In my experience I have used many different styling products and this is by far the worst.

I'm certain I will be the talk of the boat ramp! Although I could have easily purchased a $5 cutting board from target made from the same material, cut it to fit my transom exactly, drilled a couple of countersunk holes and gotten the same result, it would not have been an "official transom mounting plate"! This "official" transom mounting plate cost me twenty bucks on Amazon, and it was a nice surprise. I am a different person! "It's official!" I mean it's true! I'm not finished yet! The good news is, there's more to come! A pair of stainless steel screws comes with this baby! There is no hardware store where you can buy those! When you decide to go to Target, buy a cutting board, cut it to meet your boat's back, and drill a couple of holes in it, you need to realize that it won't be an "official" You should pay twenty dollars today, so don't hesitate. I just want to ask for a favor if you see me on the water or on the ramp, will you give me an up-nod and say, "nice mounting plate. ". Those twenty bucks will be well worth it.
The quality and price of this sheet are outstanding. The thickness is 3/4". Two 6" #10 stainless sheets were used to hold the transducers firmly into place A screw made of metal. The (Pre-V) Three sixteenths of an inch is drilled. I adhered the plate with a marine grade epoxy (in addition to the screws provided) after applying marine grade glue. However, there is a workaround that can be employed to prevent epoxy from sticking to this plastic plate Here and there. For this, drill a few shallow holes in the back of the plate and add some negative bevel angle to the sides of those holes (dremel tools work well As an anchor, the epoxy will utilize the holes in the plate to hold it in place. Adding thread grooves to the sides of holes can also be done by using a drill tapping tool. As long as the epoxy holds well, that will be fine.
just a standard board to do the job. There are not many things to say about it since it will do the job without any problems. I just want to point out a couple of things. It will not stay in place with 5200, so screws will have to be used. The additional part is not included. It was convenient to have holes predrilled for it. I have to replace the screws that came with my transducer because they were just a tad longer than the board. It would be nice if it was just a little thicker. Also, I noticed thinner screws did not seem to want to tighten up well. It is best to use a screw of greater diameter. It is not clear whether this is common with these types of boards or if it was a matter of one being made from too soft material.
My lowrance total scan transducer would have been a little more comfortable if its mounting plate had been thicker. It defeats its purpose because the screws are longer than the height of the plate, which is not the fault of the product itself. Having said that, my lowrance 83/200 hst-wsbl works perfectly with the product. The 3m 5200 black tape has been attached to the hull of my boat using the stainless steel screws provided and after cleaning with acetone. I think it will last for quite some.
I received the product today, and it is a great product. My one complaint, and it is not against the product per se, but rather Amazon's description as of 7/1/16, which states that it is a A total of five times three. The size of the picture is 3 by It didn't seem to be an inch thick when I received mine today. Based on this information, I went to the manufacturer's website and confirmed that the belt is Because Amazon's description said it had a width of 1 inch, I ordered it.
After pre drilling holes, the head of both screws broke off! They might be stainless screws, but both heads popped Don't let a bad screw head ruin your day, and go and buy some quality stainless screws that are not susceptible to breaking. I had to take out the screws, put quality stainless screws in, and apply 3M 5200 adhesive to the area, it seems to work, may pre drill the transducer screws also.
You won't drill a hole in your boat when switching transducers with this technique. You simply need to screw into the transom of your boat and the mounting is complete.
The product is excellent, and is much cheaper than what you can get at the boat dealer. Installation is quick and simple.
