What does the voltage rating refer to? Does it refer to the voltage in the conductor? It seems low to me. ?

The odds of someone buying one of these without knowing how to use it are pretty slim. As a current monitor for an AC generator at home, my application is a current monitor for an AC generator. Those who don't know, current transformers require an additional load resistor that is not included in this coil part for purchase. This load resistor is placed across the coil output and the amount of AC voltage across it is proportional to the amount of current flowing through its center wire. As a result of the load resistor and the coil design, the range of the current measured will depend on the load resistor. My scale is based on the CR8449-D In this case, 1 Volt RMS output means 10 Amps of current is flowing through the wire. (For anyone who A six ohm, one watt resistor is used to measure a circuit rated at 30 amps.
