Questions & Answers

Is the price per ten?

Each piece costs eight dollars in the United States.

Is this an attenuator for forward path? Or will it boost my upstream power levels as well?

It's an attenuator that works in both forward and reverse directions. It's a passive device that can't boost signal levels.

Do you get a 5,10, or 20dB as shown in the picture?

Sorry, but you'll only get one 10db attenuator. In deferred listings, the firm sells the other once. This is strictly for the 10Db! They use the same image for all of their listening sessions.

My antenna signal is way too strong, I'm pretty sure. What is the best way to determine how much attenuation I require?

You'll need an RF meter to test it for the best results. If you haven't done so already, you can pad the incoming signal from a high to a low value attenuator to check the picture quality. br>Due to an excessively high incoming signal, the images are unstable. It's also snowing in the picture.

I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase
5/5

My cable/internet connection is working perfectly. My cable modem was reporting anywhere from a 7db to 12db power download with a 40-second delay before I got this accessory. Upstream power range of 44 dB. For my tastes, I had a lot of corrected and uncorrectable octects, and I noticed that my pages would take up to ten minutes to load. It takes 15 seconds for the page to load. Even with my gigabit internet, streaming would occasionally be interrupted. br>br>Now that I have this attenuator pad, I am receiving downstream power from - on all 32 channels. 1 to +0. According to several sources, upstream power on the upstream channels ranges from 48 to 50 watts, which is also a perfect range. On my mobile device, there is no lag when streaming, and pages load in 1 to 2 seconds; for reference, my SNR (signal to noise ratio) is at a constant 38 dB (this has not changed; it only reduces signal power). In terms of correctable octets, there are almost none! My internet speed tests have shown an improvement as well. I had previously called my cable ISP provider to report issues, but they would check levels and say there was no problem. I was even having pixelation issues with my Tivo box on occasion; Additionally, this issue was resolved. br>br>I'm still getting the same signal strength and excellent performance after two months. Just make sure to check your cable modem status page and get the correct attenuator pad, or else you might have issues.

Cable Modem Downstream Power Levels Have Been Successfully Reduced On my Arris SURFboard S33 cable modem, I bought this 10dB attenuator pad to reduce the downstream power levels
5/5

My Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) cable line goes straight to the modem, and the signal was too strong. The cable technician installed a splitter to reduce the power level, but I was still seeing power levels that were out of specification at times, as well as a lot of "uncorrectables" on the modem's status page. The downstream power levels are much closer to zero after replacing the splitter with the attenuator in the outside cable box, and no uncorrectables are visible.

It works perfectly, and 5 stars means "I adore it
5/5

" "How can I fall in love with a 10dB attenuator?" Is it possible that we overuse the term "love" and thus diminish its value? br>It works perfectly and corrects my overdriven RF amplifier. My S/N had really gotten out of hand when I realized I was clipping the input amp and compressing the whole thing. br>And this attenuator confirmed that, yes, that was the case. br>Now that my weak stations have been restored, I can get back to work. It appeals to me:.

I was able to bring my cable internet signal up to spec
5/5

My upstream voltage was too low, and my downstream voltage was too high (though not out of specification). When I attached this to the back of the cable modem, the downstream voltage dropped significantly (but remained within specification), while the upstream voltage increased - putting it through its paces If you're not sure if this will work for you, you can use a splitter. A splitter typically has one input and two outputs, each labeled with a minus sign. 7db (or a different number) is a decibel level. Each split's attenuation is represented by that number. Try it out and see what happens to your signal. Best of luck!.

There are times when it is necessary
5/5

There is a limit to how much you can have. To avoid overloading the tuner, I needed a few decibels of loss. This clever device performs admirably.

This product is of high quality and reduces noise by exactly 10 decibels! DOCSIS 3
5/5

0 is what I have. The specifications for the 0 cable modem were slightly off. br>Downstream power was 11db, with 0 being the best value. br>Purchased this 10db attenuator, which is the closest thing to a "perfect 11. " "br>It reduced downstream power by exactly 10 dB (to 1 dB). " Unlike some attenuators, the end of this product rotates, making installation a breeze.

For my issue, it didn't work

Unfortunately, the product did not solve my problem. Others who have problems with TV reception will probably be fine with it.
