Questions & Answers

When I install the Amped SB1000 on my router, which of its two stock antennas should I replace? What's more important, the left one or the right? Do you think that the other one should also be kept on?

There is a mistake in the answers below. If you have a dual passport This will boost ONLY your 2. Attach your router and this will boost only your 2. Your 5 GHz band should be disabled and your 4 GHz band should be enabled. It took me a while to discover that I could not use band 0 on my phone. An antenna like this will NOT boost 5 GHz signals. There are no options for the 0 GHz band. It will only work with a 2 GHz band. Band 4 of the 4 GHz range.

Can this be used on the AT&T u-verse routers ?

ATT U-Vers are currently available in the United States It will not work with Verse Routers since they have internal antennas.

Can this be used with the wireless gateway that Xfinity provides to Comcast and Cable? Is there an antenna visible on the back of the machine despite having four Ethernet ports?

The antenna does not need to be replaced. To repeat the signal, I purchased an AMP SR10000. You don't have to mess with Ethernet.

Is this useful if I have a networked ?

Yes, this will work with the The 11n standard is supported by most Yes, that is true.

You no longer have to drop spots! The Wifi repeater/booster 1000mw I bought is really good
5/5

In my bedroom, I barely got a signal from my router because the signal was so weak. There is a dual band router, but the signal is barely 30 mw. Approximately 80 dollars were spent on the repeater. The difference between that and $15. 00 is amazing! Using your router, the repeater connects to the Internet. You can now remove the antenna from the router (for dual band routers, remove the antenna from Those are the 5GHz bands) you install the repeater/booster's connector. UNTIL THE CONNECTION IS MADE, DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER TO THIS UNIT! I am floored! There are full bars on everything inside and outside the house! My excitement levels are high as I can hardly wait to see how far I can go No dropped spots will be left in your home with this. Note that this is part Any booster over 2GHZ will cause problems, and being used with a booster over 4GHZ will cause problems. In your home, you will find electronics that operate at 4GHZ. There is an app available in the Google Play store called Amped Wireless that helps to identify the optimum channel to use. When I first got my cordless phone, I had trouble. It took me just a minute to change the channel on the router using the Amped wireless app as my guide. The app helps you find the best If you need to troubleshoot the cordless phone, ensure it's removed from the base first. About 2 out of every 3 people. As long as the phone is being charged on the base, it does not broadcast. Now you won't have any problems!.

Good streaming to the phone and remote device through a router
5/5

The following steps are required to upload data to a router from a phone or remote device It is marginal. Despite the fact that my DirecTV DVR is 80 feet away from my DVR, it needs a network connection The router (on the other side of the house) is a Link 825. The purpose of ordering this product was to TRANSMIT the content of a DirecTV HR44 DVR to the HR24 which was located remotely. An amplified antenna and power amplifier known as the "Amped SB1000" have solved both the main problems. One of the two antennas on my DIR-100 was removed The SB1000 combo was installed in place of the 825 router (to the left, when facing back at router). HR24 went from negative to positive on the distant signal A dBm range of 70 to -90 It increased by 16 dB from 53 to 54 dBm! That's very nice, and I can see why you noticed it. With this, the Genie HR44 in the media room and the HR24 DVR on the other side of the house can now play back perfect audio and video simultaneously. There was a lot of choppy water before. The router amp and new antenna are located on the router, so it is somewhat useless the other way around. The remote HR24 will not reliably play content on the Genie/HR44 when played from the remote. In this respect, it makes perfect sense given that the only change on the link between HR24 and HR44 is the new antenna, which is about 3 dB more powerful than the stock antenna. Adding the antenna gain of 3 dB, the transmit amplifier does have roughly 13 dB more output power along with the triple gain of the HR24 compared to the HR44. The remote HR24 cannot play content from the Genie HR44 but can play it Located about two feet above the HR44, the router sits on top of that. In between the HR44 and the remote HR24, there is about 80 feet, 24 of which are down four-foot wide hallways. Overall, I would have to say this is a success, but if you need to be able to play in both directions, then you need a repeater that amplifies both directions. Although this is not an issue faced by most people, if you wish to extend the transmitting range (but not receiving range) on a wireless router, this amplifier and antenna combo will do the trick. The following is an alternative way of stating You can hear better what is coming from the router (with your phone/tablet) using the SB1000 combo. By using a better antenna, you are only able to hear the router a little bit better. In this case, routers must be equipped with reverse SMA connectors. As long as you do not have router antennas that utilize reverse SMA you will not be able to use this product. By itself, without taking environmental differences into account, such as carpet or furniture, it is predicted that the amplifier would increase transmission gains by 10 * Log (20) = 13 dB - 3 dB of extra antenna gain, or 16 dB of additional transmission gain. I measured the signal change with the Amped app for Android on both my Samsung S4 and Nexus7 Tablet and I saw a change in the signal received at the remote location from -120 to +120. The range of 70 to 0 There is a 16-dB difference between 54 dBm and 56 dBm. This is pretty close to what is expected theoretically. in the power ratio 1000/50 is based on 1000 mW amplifier power and 50 mW router power. )

Finally, this won't help your device to BE HEARD Basically, this will make it easier for your device to hear the router. So if you stream audio or video from your router to your phone or tablet or whatever, then this device works very In contrast, if you are looking for a better way to be heard by your router (such as when you are uploading files from your device) then this device/combo will only provide marginal improvement because of With the start of high definition streaming from my Genie HR44 DirecTV server to the HR24 remotely located, I am extremely pleased with the ability. In this section, you will find installation notes 1.

Take a few measurements of signal levels in problematic locations BEFORE you add the new antenna and amp (SB1000) with the Amped App. Putting them on paper is a good idea. * * 2. Connect the router's antenna before you power off your router. 1.
2.
3. The amplifier base of the SB1000 must NOT be powered on or even plugged into the wall before connecting the new antenna. 2. 3. 4. The router antenna needs to be disconnected with the router powered off. The new antenna should be screwed into the SB1000 amplifier base while the SB1000 is not powered (there is no switch). You will need to connect the coax cable from the SB1000 base to the connector on the router where you previously had the old antenna. * * 5. When you have verified all connections are correct, plug the power back into the router, and then plug the AC adapter for the SB1000 back You should wait for the router to be reset or rebooted before taking a measurement of the signal strength on your device, then comparing it to what Assuming all is well, you should be able to see many places where the signal level is at least 10 dB higher than when you began. You may need a repeater to boost the signal both ways, or a much more powerful antenna at the router if you want to improve the signal. It's possible to add a WiFi Yagi or a parabolic dish which could give you a gain of about 10 dB or 17 dB respectively, but they take up more space, especially the parabolic dish. It is only about 22" long, which is why I recommend it below (and that I myself am currently using successfully). If you do not want to add either of these larger antennas to help you both in both directions, I would recommend using the SB1000, but a full repeater about half way to where the remote device will You can add a yagi antenna to this SB1000 amplifier (and not use the supplied vertical antenna) if you wish to improve reception and transmit range, in one general direction (from one end of a house to the other). The process is simply adding the antenna to the Antenna 2 Yagi - Wireless Antenna for Wifi and GPS. The following signal is transmitted at 4GHz 15dBi The temperatures at 30° V are as follows An outdoor directional wireless network that provides 25° of coverage TUPAVCO Network Equipment) (At $00) /*This A low-loss TRENDnet Reverse SMA Female to N-Type connector Approximately 5 feet. 1) TW The yagi antenna and the recommended 6' coaxial cable/adapter connectors (N-C) can be purchased here . ) and you'll gain at least 10 dB better reception as well as the improved range mentioned above. (With the power off, remove the vertical antenna that comes with the SB1000 and connect the new cable and antenna in its place. ) In addition to improving receiver performance, the transmitter performance will also be improved. On Amazon, you can find my review with actual measurements of the antenna. I. *I. *I. As a result, these signal level measurements are IN BACKWARD order of the non-incident ones Interested in technology. The level of the signal is When the signal level is -70 dBM, it is 15 dB WEAKER than when the signal level is -70 dBM The standard for the level of 55 dBm is 0 mV. As such, you would like the signal to reveal that it is LESS NEGATIVE, rather than a bigger number in absolute terms. This means we should measure the "after" measurement smaller (55 instead of 70), since we are talking about numbers that begin The reason I bring this up is because I've read quite a few reviews that have gotten the same thing completely wrong and have come to false conclusions since our understanding of the matter was so distorted. Signal strength is measured by this app (and most others) in dBm (decibels below that of As you are getting nearer to that reference, the stronger the signal is you are capturing. * It should be noted as well that the manufacturer, in their instructions, mentions that the benefit of this device is ONE WAY (e. g. from the router to the remote device, phone, tablet). The answer is correct, and I appreciate that they made this clear to me. One direction will be sufficient for a lot of people, but for others, a full repeater or a better antenna, as discussed above, will be needed.

Half way up the block, we get a full signal! From the corner of the living room downstairs to the bedroom above the garage on the other side of the house, I wanted to get a strong WiFi signal
5/5

In addition to my Linksys E1200 router, I have an Edimax EW-2000 installed at the bottom of my stairs The house has a 7228APn 150Mbps 11n Wireless Range Extender on the second floor, but the signals in the rooms over the garage are still weak. The first time I bought an Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-Adapter, I fell for the hype. Although this "High Powered" router had a weaker signal than the Linksys, this 600mW Gigabit Router (R10000G) provided even a weaker signal. As an alternative, I returned the previous router and replaced it with this one, which I attached I found this to be the best Now that the signal is strong throughout the house and even halfway up the block, we have more internet choice than ever before. My family and I love this antenna, it makes a huge difference. As well as me, I think you'll enjoy it.

Everything depends on what position you are in
4/5

Our home is a former duplex that is divided by a thick concrete block wall, which is essentially like an exterior wall between the living and business areas. It is an acronym for Directed Energy Please click here to link to I kept my 6552 router on the home side of that thick dividing wall, opposite my office at the back of the house that sits on the business side of the house. In addition, there are countless appliances and devices that interfere with the router. Under the circumstances, certain Wi-Fi technologies are not suitable for the router, even though it does a commendable job I could not receive a strong signal in the office using the existing Wi-Fi equipment. Following some research, I selected the Amped Wireless High Power 1000mW Wi-Fi router, which provides a strong signal while using a low power level and offers a wide field of view. I think it's worth a try to boost my Wi-Fi signal. I am pleased to report that Amazon delivered on time The boost is installed by replacing one of the router antennas with the booster, plugging an extension cord into the outlet (unless you have an outlet midway up the wall, you could use a longer cord), and adjusting the antenna Installation of the WiFi is a must It is also a great idea to use the Amped Fi Analytics Tool to monitor your signal for positioning, as it is intuitive. While your set up will determine how much work you need to put into the position, making the effort to work with it will pay off in the end. It's a huge improvement now that the signal on the business side is good, more reliable than the previous spikes, and reaches the backyard, which is a great bonus if devices are used outside. Please bear in mind that the booster is only compatible with the 2 towers. As you can see, this only works in the 4GHz Band the 5GHz Band is not affected. If this meets your needs, this is a simple and practical I want to thank Amazon and Amped for their support!.
