You'll need resistors with these because the LEDs will burn out quickly if you don't. The amount of resistance required is determined by the voltage supplied.
The maximum voltage is 2 volts. The maximum current available is 20 milliamps. If your circuit uses 5 volts, you still need to create a good voltage divider.

" These are standard, and unlike two or more digit modules, they do not require a controller to alternate. They're extremely sensitive to excessive stimulation. Give them no more than 20 milliamps of current - I'd even go so far as to say that a brightness of ten is sufficient. When I was testing them on the breadboard, I accidentally shorted a wire, and it's now dimmer than the rest, so buy extras just in case!.
I'd also like to mention that the replacement/reorder process went extremely smoothly, and I'm very pleased.
These parts were just received, and they appear to be a good value with excellent brightness, even when using 150 ohm current limit resistors. I'd make another purchase.
I bought these for my lab but didn't realize how difficult they would be to use on a breadboard; I wish the pins were on the outsides. In the end, I switched to a different monitor.
The 7-segment system is now operational. Thank you very much.
These do what they should do. The pin pitch is stated to be 2mm in the description, but it appears to be 2. 54mm (0. 1") in front of me. Anyway, I can confirm that these will fit on a breadboard, and that they are a good value for the money.
I wanted to play with a few of these. For the past 25 years or so, I haven't used any of these old-school seven-segment LEDs. To test the segments, I breadboarded a simple circuit, and they all passed. The segments are brightly colored and red. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
