Questions & Answers

What is the difference between cool, warm, and daylight lighting?

Warm white and soft white bulbs have a yellow hue, similar to incandescent bulbs, whereas cool/bright white bulbs have a whiter light, similar to daylight and what you see in stores. The following are the three main types of color temperature for light bulbs: Soft/warm White (2700K–3000K), Cool/Bright White (3500K–4100K), and Daylight (5000K–6500K) are the three most common white temperatures. The color temperature is whiter when measured in degrees Kelvin. Warm White (WW = 3000K) bulbs are the most popular choice for most people's homes.

Is it possible to buy 20-inch LED fluorescent light tubes?

A 20" bulb isn't something I'm familiar with, and a quick internet search turned up nothing. I've found that measurements can be deceiving in some cases. You might want to take a look at your old light bulb and see how big it is. It's possible that the bulb is 21". The pins, it appears to me, are frequently included in, or at least partially included in, the overall measurement.

Is it a small package?

They are, in fact, quite small. I bought them for a light fixture that would go under the cabinet and above the counter.

I need these for a new bathroom fixture, but I despise the fluorescent's washed-out appearance. Do I want it to be 3000 degrees Fahrenheit warmer? or 6500 for the day?

I purchased the 4100k for use in the kitchen, and they appear to be ideal. In my opinion, the 6500 for a bathroom is a good price.

A TOTAL FRAUD! I purchased six of these to replace the bulbs in my under-cabinet lighting
3/5

I figured that buying six would provide me with a year's worth of supply. They last approximately two months. br>br> So, of the six bulbs I purchased in April 2018, I now have three in September. 2018 br>br>Do not purchase these; They're on the bottom rung. standardbr>br>ALL SIX HAVE BLOWN OUT AS OF 1/2/19.

I bought a box of 6ea of these in May 2018 and they have a very short service life
3/5

20,000 hours, according to the Amazon listing. Maybe if they're not switched on! That's seven months' worth of service, or 5,000 hours if I left them on 24 hours a day. In the kitchen, I estimate that they are on for 12 hours per day, or 2500 hours per year. These were supposed to last at least two years. Life in the real world 6 - 7 months. br>br>It's also worth mentioning that: A SATCO bulb, one of the best bulb manufacturers, has a Life Span of 5,000 hours, according to the manufacturer's description. This is a lot closer to the advertised amount of $20,000 than the advertised amount of $20,000 The Satco replacement (on Amazon) cost around $35 for ten of them. I'd buy the Satco version if I had to buy them again, but I've decided to try one of the LED direct replacements instead. br>br>I've already replaced 5 of the 6 originally installed in May 2018, which is way less than the expected life. br>br>Also note: PINS aren't properly crimped - Installing and twisting some into the sockets was more difficult than others. br>br>Lesson from the story - WHAT YOU PAY FOR IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET.

I'm looking for more T5 bulbs for my under cabinet lights once again, but these aren't going to last
3/5

It feels like it was only a few months ago that I completed this task. Oh, wait, I already did. Only now, while looking through my purchase history, have I discovered that I purchased this exact set of bulbs twice: once in September 2018 and again in August 2019. And now, in April of 2020, they'll be extinct once more.

Without doing the math, and with only 8760 hours in a calendar year, these aren not even close to 20000 hours as they claim, and that would as These aren't going to last long. br>br>PS If you order them, be prepared for the box to be crushed when it arrives. This happened on both occasions.

The price is excellent, and the lighting is excellent
5/5

I'm hoping they stick around!! I was ecstatic to find these flourescent bulbs for my kitchen under cabinet lights at such a low price. I made a $20 payment. A pack of six costs $95 plus tax. Normally, I pay $9-$10 for a pair of shoes. At my local big box hardware store, I paid $10 for one (1) of these bulbs. I've read that these bulbs don't last very long, according to some reviews. Those brand names, on the other hand, are $9. I found that the $10 bulbs I bought at the big box store didn't last very long (usually less than a year). The price is around $3. For 49 cents per bulb, I'll consider it a win if they even last a third as long as the others. In June 2020, I just finished installing this one. When I have more information about the bulb's longevity, I will try to update this review. They're fine for the time being!.

Works perfectly, with a bright white color temperature of 6500K
5/5

We purchased this set of six light bulbs (tubes) to use with our Laser cutting machines, and we learned something in the process. The distance between the tube pins, not the length of the glass tube, is used to determine the tube measurement. As a result, we purchased 21" tubes for a 22" light fixture that was unmarked. We were able to cut the fixture's length to fit these tubes because it was made of thin aluminum. The lamps were plugged in after we fixed our 'oops,' and they worked perfectly: no swirling or flickering from the tube ends, the tube snaps on without hesitation, and the color is a bright white with a slight lean toward the bluer spectrum, as one would expect from 6500K color 'temperature' lamps. br>br>At this point (3 days after installation), they're still working great, and we're happy with them, even with the small brass tubes crimped over the igniter wires for the pins. When the tubes were rolled into place in the fixture, they did not flex or twist.

Flickering light is caused by the low quality bent/deformed pins in these bulbs
3/5

We had high expectations for these bulbs, but they let us down. There were two issues:br>1) they arrived wrapped, all six pressed together, with plastic wrap wrapped around each end, compressing the ends. Fortunately, none of the cracks were visible. 2), and perhaps more importantly, the two pins at each end were of poor quality: They had a rough brass finish to them. colored (we're guessing metal) that appeared to have been chewed on and weren't straight They didn't install them easily, and the bulbs flickered. br>We've included photos of a "normal" bulb's pins next to the pins on these "TopStar" bulbs, as well as the flicker we experienced. br>Perhaps our luck ran out. Everyone else appears to be doing well. However, we are not one of them.

Life expectancy is extremely short
3/5

I purchased this to replace some burned-out bulbs in my under-cabinet lighting. After a few months, I experienced some additional burnouts - All four were from the same brand, which I had recently replaced. After being in for several years, none of the originals had burned out in the same amount of time. China's cheep knickknacks. What you pay for is exactly what you get.
