This mercury bulb has a mogul base (E39) that will not fit into a standard lightbulb socket due to the size of the base. An E26 base is required for a typical medium base.

There is currently no GE LED replacement available. However, one is planned for later this year.

After returning the first bulb, it is now a bright working bulb

Because my first bulb from Amazon was defective and made a clanking noise when you moved it slightly, I wanted to order this locally. So I ordered a replacement, which made a slight noise when you moved it, but the one I was replacing made no sound at all, so I was worried I'd gotten another dud. It's not easy to replace these lights because they're so high up that I have to reach them with a telescopic pole, and you can't see what you're doing from that distance. The second, on the other hand, works well and is quite bright. Fortunately, Amazon has an excellent return policy.

There is only one bulb per pack, not six

I'm not sure why this is listed as a 6-pack on the seller's website. Only one of the three bulbs I ordered arrived in a timely manner. I'm going to file a grievance.
