No, I don't think so. I use them on low-amp equipment that I build, and they typically burn out when used with higher-amp equipment.
It snaps into place if you cut a hole in your panel the correct size.
Please take a look at the switch's ratings. I can't find a rating for 5VDC or 12VDC at any current anywhere. You could infer that this switch would work based on basic physics (of the switch's internals) and an understanding of the characteristics of DCV vs ACV and current (Amperes). Please use switches rated at the required DCV and Ampere ratings for your project. Many switches fail in projects because people underrate or fail to read the fine print. For your Raspberry Pi project, I recommend a switch that clearly states 12VDC @ 4A, as the RPi4 requires 3A when it includes any Pi Hat/Expansion board, as well as your amplifier/speaker and power bank. I recommend performing a test to determine the total current required, then purchasing a good power supply capable of delivering that current, and finally selecting an appropriate switch. br>br>Simply put, you need to do more than guess at the requirements for a switch, even if you have 35 years of electronics training. It's enjoyable to do mathematics.

On a 3d printer, I used one of these as the primary cutoff switch. According to the Kill-A-Watt, this printer's maximum draw is 300W at 120V. It passes through a watt meter. That is only 2 if you do the math. 5A. br>br>It's been about a month since the switch was installed. Everything has been going swimmingly. The switch is more of a formality/safety device for me because I never turn off this printer. I started a print tonight and thought I smelled burning plastic. When I went to turn off the printer, the switch STILL WAS NOT MOVING. That's the only thing it's meant to do! I yanked the plug and began dismantling the power supply; as you can see in the photos, the bottom contact became hot enough to start melting the switch housing, as well as transfer enough heat to the connector to char that plastic. I feel as if I've escaped with my life. br>br>I can't recommend these for anything that is connected to the mains in good conscience. These would probably work fine for switching low voltage small loads, which is the only reason they aren't being thrown away right now.
6 amps! When it stopped working and I discovered it had melted and my wires had charred, I assumed it was just one bad one. So I tried replacing it several times and got the same result, which was very concerning because this was still running in my camper. If the line had not been properly fused or combustibles were close to the switch, we could have died!.
Installed on a shop vac rated at 4 amps at 110 volts, melted switch in a week, but on the plus side, I'll have 9 more weeks of switches since you get 10 in total.
For a variety of projects, these are fantastic little switches. br>I simply hot glued a 9v battery to the back of a canvas and connected some LED light strips with this switch in line. br>Works perfectly; I plan to make a variable power supply and use some of these in the near future. br>br>The price is reasonable and the quality is excellent.
I purchased this as a replacement part based on the dimensions listed in the part diagram; however, these dimensions are incorrect for a smaller part that I require. These switches appear to be of good quality, especially for the price, but I was disappointed when they arrived in a larger size than I had specified because I had already designed and 3D printed a large piece into which they would fit. Nothing that a few passes with a deburring tool couldn't fix, but I wish I hadn't had to deal with it in the first place. And it's not a matter of tolerance because they're all close to or exactly 0. Instead of a zero, the length is 73". 63" is the number that was given. It's possible that it's a mistake. Nonetheless, for the price, I can't be them.
