These are fantastic little switches. We're using them to increase the number of switches on our sailboat's interior panel. For those who are curious, here are two things to consider:
- To make the hole, use a 13/16th-inch wood bitbr>- The two coordinating colored prongs connect your batter to the accessory being turned on or off. To turn on the LED, connect one of the different colored wires to your negative/ground.
These switches do what they're supposed to do, but they're operating in the wrong direction. Depending on which image you look at, the switch is illuminated in both positions. I assumed the image of the "on" and "off" positions was correct, but it's the opposite (LED is on when it's raised, not flush). br>br>Aside from that, they appear to be fine; however, if your project will be approaching that level of load, I would be wary of the 20A rating and conduct thorough thermal testing.
In my van, I use the switches. br>Each of the small switches was ready to use right out of the box. When the switch is turned on, the position lights burn. If you choose to use them, you must wire them across the correct pole because they are SPST. br>I would buy it again if I needed it. As a result, I am confident in giving these switches a 5-star rating.
These were purchased to control 12v outlets and USB chargers on my "Solar Generator," which I built myself. I like having the option of turning off the power to these outlets and plugs because it gives me a sense of security. I can tell if it's on or off by looking at the light. br>br>It was a breeze to install. I simply wired the outlets and chargers to the switches by using the predrilled holes in my panel. The switches are rated for 20 amps, which is more than enough for my needs. The switches are solidly constructed and of excellent quality. They're also a great deal when purchased in an 8-pack. They get 5 out of 5 stars from me.
It really works. If you're making your own wires, connect them with 1/4 female quick disconnect terminals. Wires and an inline fuse are included, so it should work in most situations.
The switches all worked as they should, they are just bright enough to show there is on rather than a blinding light like some of the switches I've owned. They work great and I haven't had any issues with them! If you have a black interior and want to give it a factory look, this is the product to get. They also make different colors, such as red, green, blue, amber, white, and yellow, but I believe this is a different kit on Amazon.
There isn't much to say about it except that it's a three-poll switch that doesn't come with instructions for which ones to connect where and isn't labeled with which one is which. It is colored, but you'll have to look at the description to figure out which prong goes where.
These tiny toggles have left an impression on us. To indicate that they are "on," they emit a small, bright blue light. There is no light when you select "off. " They're big enough for us to use, but not so big that they're distracting. These toggles are fantastic!.
