It remains in the position where you last put it.
They should be able to withstand 120 volts, in my opinion. Wiring for a polarity reversing system has never been easier. To blow out or in as desired, I used 12 volt fans with lower amperage.
They aren't spring-loaded, to be sure.
It does not return, and it remains in the two on positions.

I use it as a polarity reversing switch to change the direction of a 12 volt fan or a Fantastic Fan in my RV. The four ends are crossed in an x pattern, and power is hooked to that cross on either side, with the center going to the appliance. As a result, one side of the fan is facing forward, while the other is facing backward.
These were used as a cheap way to switch audio feeds between two pairs of speakers from an old stereo receiver. One set is set indoors, while the other is set on a patio outside. Over a junction box in the wall, I mounted the switches on a blank wall plate. I'm very pleased. At this time, there is no strange noise or feedback of any kind.
They switch negative and positive, which was necessary because my project required multiple voltages; however, the water proof covers were a pain to install, and I don't believe they'll do anything to make it water proof? They simply go over the toggle and are screwed in place. The screw terminals appeared to be a little chinsey, but that didn't matter because I was going to solder them anyway. In the end, they fulfilled my requirements.
This switch is only rated for 16 amps. In fact, it can be seen on the side of the switch in the listing photo. That may be fine for my purposes, but it may not be for yours.
I used these switches to switch between multiple receivers a single long wire antenna. They have a nice feel to them, and the wiring lugs are quite strong. I didn't use the waterproof covers because my box is inside, but they appear to be more plastic than anything else, and I'm not sure how long they'll last. But, as I previously stated, I have not used them, so they may work fine in practice.
What you pay for is exactly what you get. Except for the fact that they don't last very long, these switches are fine. When I only needed one, I bought a pack of five. Now I'm glad I got five because they only last about a month before I have to go get another one!.
My grandson's power wheel would only go forward until I installed this switch, which allows him to reverse when he gets stuck going forward. He appears to be content.
My lathe feed controllers will benefit from these switches. br>It works as it should and looks great on the panel. I'm not sure how long they'll last, but I have no reason to think they won't perform admirably for a long time. Stay tuned!.
