This isn't even close to the wattage rating required for such a task. The KILOWATT range of furnaces is the most common. This switch only draws 10 amps at 120 volts and 6 amps at 240 volts. I've seen a lot of 240v hardlined furnaces. If it's just a controller for a gas furnace, I'm guessing the load for a furnace will be higher than the 1200 Watt maximum this switch can handle. If more wattage is going through this rocker, it's a fire hazard and it's not legal, so I'd look for one that's rated higher. There are also dedicated switches that are better suited for this - Especially since, once the power grid is turned on, you'll want to make sure the generator and the grid are separated, and this little rocker isn't nearly powerful enough. Overall, no; instead, upgrade to a higher-rated switch.

This was used to replace a fried forward/reverse switch on my son's battery-powered four-wheeler. I don't believe it's a Power Wheels brand; instead, I believe it's a Kid Trax or something similar (it's branded Caterpillar, FWIW). Because this switch had the correct power ratings, I chose it over the Amazon recommended one that said "for Power Wheels. " My son is four years old, and I'm not sure if he'll be able to read by himself. Wheeler has different power requirements or wiring than Power Wheels, but I wanted to replace it with something that was as close to the original as possible. The old switch said "20A/125V 16A/250V" on the side, so that's what I was looking for. The only significant difference is that this switch is an on/off/on rather than the on/off that it replaced. br>br>Installation was simple; simply remove the wires from the old broken switch and connect them to the new switch using slide connectors. I haven't noticed any issues as a result of the switch's different type, and I can't imagine it failing because it has an "off" in the middle. br>br>I consider this switch to be a good buy; Plus, having two switches means I have a backup in case the "high speed/low speed" switch fails (or maybe it's just a sign that I need to find him a new 4-speed). wheeler). My only "gripe" is that I spent an entire day searching the internet for an On/On 6-in-1. DPDT rocker switch with 20A/125V and 16A/250V ratings. Perhaps that's more of a remark directed at the person who created the 4-star rating. Because it doesn't appear to be a standard switch for that form factor, I went with wheeler.
I bought two of these and the first one broke during installation, so they are of poor quality and will not last. I'll shoulder some of the blame because I was squeezing the spade connectors pretty hard while wiring up 12ga romex wiring for the two appliances I'm switching in and out. Nonetheless, the spades connectors on the back of the plug aren't strong enough for a 250V 15 amp rating. I was a little more gentle with the second switch when wiring it up and bending the romex wires, and it worked great for about a week. We were switching the two appliances twice a day, from position 1 to off, then back to position 2, and after a week, the switch became intermittent, and the internal connection appeared to be flaky, as we now have to push the rocker switch in a specific way until it connects. Then it loses contact with you and disconnects on its own. It's all made in China. BUY ONLY IF YOU DO NOT EXPECT TO USE THE SWITCH OFTEN. Also, one would think that when the rocker switch is in the middle OFF position, the internal light would turn off and then turn back on when the switch is switched to either 1 or 2 positions. Not true. The light remains on all of the time, causing the rocker to become extremely warm as a result of the heat generated by the internal light. This product should be avoided at all costs.
This was precisely what I was looking for. I only needed one, but it's nice to have a backup. Only if the switch(es) have reliability issues will I update this review. On my boat, I used this item to replace the motor on an exhaust fan. I rewired the original fan to run off the 12-volt battery on the boat. volt power system (rather than its own isolated solar-powered system) a single C-powered setup of the cell). I wired it in the opposite direction. This switch allows you to go in and out and it works perfectly.
This is an either or switch, not a 'both' switch, which makes it a great value. I tried to get two sets of lights to turn on at the same time, but it only connects one of them at a time.
I've correctly wired these DPDT switches, and the dual functional aux lights work, but the switch has no LED in any of its three positions. I haven't been able to come up with a solution. I looked online for a diagram of this particular type of switch but couldn't find anything. I'm pretty sure these, like the others I've ordered, are defective at this point.
I couldn't find the switches for the Suzuki pink power wheel, which is no longer available. I used to work at Walmart many years ago. The forward and reverse buttons are controlled by the block switch, while the slow and fast buttons are controlled by the red switch. My 4-year-old is once again riding her power wheel, thanks to a cheap fix.
The fact that this switch was "illuminated" was one of the main reasons I bought it. That isn't the case. Still, it works as a three-way switch, which is the most important feature I was looking for, so we'll see how long it lasts. In my service van, I'm using these to power a string of 12v LED lights.
They perform admirably as a linear actuator. Excellent sound and image quality.
