I have no opinion on the product's quality, and despite reading the description, it would not be suitable for my needs. Between the shore power and the generator in my RV, I needed a switch. Be aware that this switch has two inputs and two outputs. A two-input, one-output system was required. If you use this switch, electricity will be fed back into whichever device is not in use, potentially causing generator damage. Also, nothing larger than a 10 AWG wire will fit into the terminals, so you'll need to use wire lugs if you're using larger wire; there's nothing wrong with the switch itself.
For the outlets installed in my 1994 popup camper, I used this switch to switch between shore power and my small inverter. When switching positions, the switch appears to be well-made and has a nice solid feel to it. I didn't have it switch the incoming shore power, but I did break the circuit that went to the outlets after it exited the original power distribution module. It's fantastic!.
I wanted two power sources (house and solar), as well as one output (router). I emailed the seller after failing to get a couple of setups to work. They responded with a diagram for my application that was easy to understand. Excellent customer service; I wired it that way and it works perfectly. It appears to be a sturdy switch with good contacts that tighten easily. As others have mentioned, there are few instructions (in Chinese), but the customer service compensated for this. It performs admirably in my application.
It's Much Bigger Than I Expected. This switch appears to be of exceptional quality - with positive clicks in each position and a substantial overall construction If you know how to use jumpers and have a basic understanding of electronics, you can easily turn this into a source-powered device. To choose between a generator and a solar power source, install a selection switch (as I did). My only criticism of this switch - and it's mentioned in the specifications and pictures when you buy it - Its biggest feature is its size. The sheer size of this switch could be an issue depending on your mounting desires - As a result, remember that.
Perfect manual RV transfer switch from shore power to inverter, with converter turned off. When the inverter is turned on, the charger automatically turns on. Use with a 4x6 enclosure purchased from a different vendor.
Each position snaps into place with a lot of force. The 12 terminal model, on the other hand, will not work for reversing an AC motor. Six wires and a ground are used in an AC motor reversing circuit. As a result, 6 wires x 2 positions equals 12 terminals. NO! In position 1, the switch only makes and brakes three wires, while in position 2, it only makes and brakes three wires. However, each position requires the creation and breaking of all six wires. As a result, a 16-port switch is required. However, even the 16 requires a LARGE NUMBER of jumpers (e. g. , 8, 10?). The 16 terminal is a complex but inexpensive drum switch replacement. I'm going to switch to the drums. This is something I'll keep in mind for a DC motor.
Make certain you purchase the model that is appropriate for your position. 8 terminals denotes a 2-way switch. 110v Positive-Neutral wire with a switch. and took a separate, shared Ground bus I wired it with two power sources in and one out (Grid/OFF/INVERTER). Switching from RV shore power to inverter power is done with this device. Switched two 5-circuit circuits. The on/off switch for the inverter is located right next to it. Everything except AC and the fridge (ac/dc/propane) and the battery charger is powered by a 1500 watt sine wave inverter. If you aren't an electrician or know someone who is, don't try this. In the process of doing this in the house as well, to replace a 30 amp sub-panel. From the Grid to the Inverter, a panel breaker box is used. 30- Lights, television, internet, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and other appliances will be powered by the amp box, which is located in the shed alongside the solar panels, batteries, and generator.
I had a project where I needed to switch four things at once, and I needed to be able to switch between three positions: off, position 1, and position 2. This switch was perfect for the job and was simple to use. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Screw terminals on things can often feel cheap, but these ones felt substantial. They bit down hard on the wire, which provides me with some relief. It performs flawlessly in terms of functionality. Look no further if you require a switch that performs the same functions as this one.
