It has a ball bearing that is held in place by compression between metal plates with dents in each position. There's a lot of resistance here, and it's locked down tight. Because the mechanism is so stiff, I had to disassemble mine and remove the ball in order to automate the switching mechanism using a stepper motor and a 3D-printed part. A circuit switcher using a printed adapter and housing to switch between multiple motors on a single set of GPIO pins was created.
The rotary switch does, in fact, open between contacts before closing on the new ones.
I'm not sure what I'm saying. However, the switch is too stiff to select all positions in a comfortable manner. I was unable to use it for QRP.

Except that instead of a single box containing all four switches, they arrived in several shipments. All switches have been tested. br>br> They function properly.
