Yes, that is acceptable. It is preferable to use the Cam Swith 20A, which is a smaller model.
Yes, 4800 watts is the result of 120 volts and 40 amps. As it is, your microphone is only connected to a 15 or 20 amp circuit. Only 8 watts are drawn by your microphone. 3 amps: dividing 1000 watts by 120 volts equals 8.
As long as it doesn't exceed 40 amps, it'll do the job perfectly. To a 120 volt output equal to or less than 40 amps, connect two 120 volt sources.
THE SWITCH IS INSTALLED IN THE BOX AFTER THE SWITCH HANDLE HAS BEEN REMOVED.

It was delivered on time. Today I installed the switch, but there were no screws when I opened the box. There were no instructions in the box, so I had to go out and get some machine screws. You'll need a certain amount of vision to see what's required. Screws are depicted in the image and description. When you're ready to start but don't have the mounting screws, it's a real pain. Due to the lack of an instruction sheet, I had to use an ohm meter to figure out which contacts were N/C and N/O. As a result, three stars are awarded.
The contacts are extremely durable. The switch rotates smoothly and solidly into the desired position. Mounting to a panel face is simple - There isn't a switch on the surface.
In my trailer, I used it to switch between shore A/C power and the inverter. It's small enough to fit in a tight space but strong enough to handle 40A. It's also useful to have a OFF switch.
To figure it out, you'll need a multimeter, but it appears to be solid.
In a vertical mill, this is a fairly simple swap out. Although the amperage is higher than the original, it still fits in the mounting holes. We didn't have any jumpers like the originals, but we were able to make replacements out of wire.
