Sears Part 823871 is the part number for the Part 1047R switch. For my Sears Craftsman Shop Vac Model 113, I purchased the switch listed here. As a replacement for the 1047R, I used 170660 and it worked fine. On the 1047R, the rocker portion of the switch is red, which is the only difference to notice. This switch can be found on a variety of Craftsman Shop Vacuums.
I can't say for sure, but I put my switch on a Rigid wet/dry vac and hoped for the best.

It still works fine, but my switch was beginning to fail. Turning it on was fine, but turning it off became increasingly difficult, until I couldn't turn it on or off at all. I was aware that the switch had failed, but I anticipated that finding a replacement would be difficult. So, I took a look at the switch's information, typed it into Amazon, and BAM! It threw up the exact switch I was looking for! I ordered it, and it arrived the next day! It was as good as new after I replaced it (it was only two wires with butt connectors). br>I adore how simple today's technology can be! br>I'd like to express my gratitude to the vendor. Amazon!.
According to the part number 73682 in the manual and CarlingSwitch part number 0333 on the physical switch, the switch is no longer available. However, after much research, this part was found to be an exact match for the original CarlingSwitch in terms of fit and power rating. It's a cinch to change it out. With a small screwdriver, remove the switch, align the two wires, and replace it. This is a black toggle switch, as opposed to the original red toggle switch. It's probably safe to assume that if the switch is pressed in under the molded word ON, it will turn on when you plug it in.
I took a chance that this would fit my large old Craftsman shop vac from the 1970s, which had the now-discontinued bat-style filter. (Please accept my apologies for the misspelling-) handle switch I was unable to locate the part number in the manual). The measurements appeared to be exactly what I needed, and it fit perfectly--much to my relief. There will be no cutting wires or other nonsense allowed. It took only 10 minutes to set up. Remove four screws from the top cover, then pop out the old switch and replace it with the new one. I'm overjoyed that I won't have to keep plugging and unplugging the vacuum to turn it on and off anymore!.
For my older Rigid 12 Gal Shop Vac, this was an excellent choice for a toggle switch replacement. I did a lot of research online to find a switch that would fit exactly like the factory switch and had the correct amp/volt rating. The factory switch was a plastic toggle switch with a broken base. Because of its low profile, this Rocker style switch eliminates the possibility of a future break. I would have given it a five-star rating, but I'd like to see how long it lasts. I don't expect it to fail, but I've only used it three times since it was installed on my older Vacuum.
The plastic toggle becomes brittle over time, and mine broke. br>br>I was ecstatic to discover that this can be used in place of the original. To get to the area where this is installed, you'll need to undo about ten screws.
Our shop vac's switch broke, but the vacuum still worked, so we took it out, checked the markings, and started looking for a replacement. I was able to locate the exact switch almost immediately. My husband installed it in five minutes, and we now have a vacuum that should last us another few years. We were able to save a significant amount of money as a result of your efforts! Thank you very much!.
We got a Wear Ever Popcorn Pumper, which is identical to the one I used to have as a kid. Although it would not turn on, direct wiring revealed that the motor and heater were still functional. This switch is a *perfect* match for the machine's switch, and replacing it was a breeze.
I have a heavy-duty Rigid shop vac that can be used as a blower or a vacuum by plugging it in both ways. The off/on switch had stopped working, and this was a perfect replacement. Unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one was a breeze.
