Thanks for your question, Nicole. I've only had the new switch for a month, but it seems to function perfectly. I guess the longevity of door may vary depending on the kind of room, because it was for a closet door in the Master Bedroom and the old one lasted two years. This may be of some help to you.

As a general contractor, I provide construction services. This switch was installed for a client by my electrician. I have pushed the button in lightly for the past week at the client's house, and it stuck. There is no way I can explain my disappointment.
There is nothing better than a product that works and isn't too expensive. I am happy with the product and with the shipping as well.
Despite its reasonable cost, it does not seem to be as effective as advertised. sells the same switch for $15 regularly, but $8 during the sale. The price of 85 is.
The switch was purchased to replace an existing one. Installed in a few minutes without any problems.
It is used on the pantry and closet doors in my home. This is a very convenient feature.
