In direct sunlight, the red one is always the most visible.

Is it possible to use these with a 5 volt power supply?

Yes, it accepts 5Vdc, 6Vdc, 9Vdc, and 12Vdc voltages. Please see the fourth image for examples of different brightness levels at various voltage levels.

Can these be dimmed with a resistor when powered by 12 volts DC? Is it okay if they're dark?

Yes, but I had to play around with resistor values to get the desired results.

The wires that were crimped to the LED leads with a butt crimp simply fell off the assembly, indicating that it was defective

Pulling the wires free was a piece of cake. This caused two of the five LEDs to be defective. To make these butt crimps reliable, I'll have to solder all of them. Quality Control is extremely poor (in fact, it appears that there is no QC at all). br>br>These are not something I would recommend to anyone.

It was incredibly simple to work with

These are simple to use because they come with a resistor already soldered in. I used a 9v battery to build a small test box to keep track of relay contacts. The LED(s) are simple to install and bright when powered by 9 volts.

These were purchased to be used as eyes in a Halloween costume. They're bright red because I connected them to a battery pack. They should work perfectly for the purpose I intend to use them for.

These LED lights have made my life so much easier. The fact that they included a diode made all the difference in the world; I'd tried others before and they all blew out right away. These are doing an outstanding job.

I like how simple they are to put together, but the light bulbs and hardware don't always fit together well. To keep bulbs from falling out during off-road rides over rough terrain, rubber cement was required.
