This is actually my second order for this item. I was able to open the box just fine, but the bottom tape It appears to have fallen out during transit. Initially I thought it might have been an empty box, but the replacement seems to be in this same condition. As I expected it would be heavy duty, I wasn't expecting it to be so durable. For my 1/2" taps, the square ends of the taps fit in a 1/4" square An inch square could be easily tapped into this one, meaning the tap would be much bigger than a half inch. While I could have gotten away with a #3 to tap 1/2" threads, I don't see any problem with the larger tap. My next step is to build a tapping guide to accommodate my hands. Also, the company sent a replacement overnight. There was no need for them to do so. I got my package the next morning even though Amazon said it would arrive in three days. Thanks for your great customer service, so I can finish this project by the end of the weekend!.
