Here's why it only gets a one-star rating
4/5

I noticed that as I used it more, it became worse. It disappears. ridge of 4 mm The fourth and final round of revisions is as follows: I changed it from 1 to 4 stars because the company sent me a new cutter, which works great and isn't defective; it cuts night and day better than the original I received, demonstrating the company's ineptitude and dedication to customer satisfaction, which is deserving of 5 stars; however, because I had to deal with the issue myself, I felt it was fair to give it 4 stars as a precautionary skepticism that it could happen to someone else. When you first receive your tooling, inspect it thoroughly and evaluate it with a clean light cut at full doc. br>br>3rd revision: br>br> Because the tool was poorly made, the bottom cutter kept ripping off. The upper inserts are all crooked, which is unfortunate. Now, if you look closely at my new photos, you'll notice that I took the tool and machined it over, as well as refit the insert; I'm going to make my own helical and abandon this, but for now, it's adequate. I should point out that this steel is not hardened, and I machined it with low-cost tools. I had 50 end mills in the junk drawer because I didn't want to spend any more money on it. So, if you haven't figured it out yet, DO NOT BUY unless you want the same problems, because if the manufacturer/seller sent a replacement for this defect, it would show that they aren't sending you the same junk. The fact that they haven't replaced it indicates that they are aware that these are defective and are selling them to unsuspecting buyers. Save your money and purchase the $150 Weldon branded one. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: If you look at the photos, you'll notice that it leaves more than a. Fracture ridge with a diameter of 4 millimeters. Stay away from this tool because it is garbage. br>br>Dropped to a one-star rating. Take a look at the pictures to see how badly it cuts. Because it's worse if it's slowed down, brand new inserts are spinning at 7k rpm. If the inserts don't align properly, it's a poorly made product if not a defect; don't buy unless you only intend to use it for hogging and then cleaning up with another tool. In terms of quality and cutting ability, my Sandvik r390 outperforms this. If the manufacturer wants to send me another one that isn't so bad, I'd consider writing a new review. br>br>Perhaps I received a defect; it's difficult to say. The product itself is visually appealing, so it piques my interest and makes me want to buy it. When I first saw it, I thought to myself, "Wow, that's nice. " However, problems began as soon as I used the cutter. The inserts leave horizontal lines and fractures that you can feel with your finger tip, so I believe the cutter is machined incorrectly. This isn't something you'd expect from a high-end cutter. I'm well aware of this because I have a large number of them. Even with the Amazon discount, this is a mid-to-upper-tier product, and I'm not sure I'd buy from this manufacturer again because of the risk-to-cost ratio and my dislike of dealing with returns. The fact that there is only one face cutter is a design flaw. There's no reason why this shouldn't have two. I have 3/4 indexables with three, so there's no reason why this shouldn't have two. If size isn't a concern, I'd suggest starting with the 1". Part of me is tempted, but I've already experienced first-hand loss of faith and regret, so I'm not going to do anything unless the manufacturer responds and does something to make things right. We buy a lot of tooling because I own and run a machine shop. I can't have my helical inserts causing horizontal lines because they're out of square. You can adjust the insert by loosening the screw, but this is not a good idea. Once an insert is in the cutting position, you should never be able to move it around. I'll upload photos if I decide to use it again. There is no plunging with this cutting, so proceed with caution. You must start from the outside of the part and work your way in with shallow cuts until you have your pocket or groove, at which point you can take deeper side cuts; just make sure you buy another cutter to finish it up clean, or just buy the right one that works and change inserts from roughing to finishing and you're done.

There is very little TIR, and the engine runs true
5/5

This isn't some low-cost nonsense. I purchased the aluminum inserts, which have a beautiful finish on 6000 series stock.

Insert, life is a very short period of time! For the money, this is a fantastic tool
3/5

When end milling, it leaves minor ridges on the overlapped inserts, which I found acceptable. The main issue I'm having is insert life, which will leave a mirror finish for 18 to 24 hours when facing. Before the finish becomes gnarly, cut it down to 24 inches with light cuts. I tried each insert and got the same results. I haven't been able to find any good quality inserts that will fit, and the accusize inserts are way too expensive for the performance they provide.
