I accidentally stripped the threads in an aluminum block on my Subaru, and this product saved the day. These were installed, and even at 39 foot pounds, they were able to hold.
hours!. It's quite simple. However, make sure you have the correct tap size, such as the EZ-Tap. A 9/16-inch drill bit is required by the LOK I used. My set only goes up to 1/2", despite the fact that it has 12 taps. br>br>Once it was in, I had to push it in a little further to make it flush. It requires 72 hours to complete. Hours to finish I don't want to take any chances, so I'm not doing it.
On my, I was replacing the valve cover. This is an excellent item. In the process of replacing the valve cover on my 2005 Nissan Altima, I stripped more than one thread. That, I assumed, was the end of it. After doing some research, I discovered the heli- coil and put them to the test. Those could be useful for other things, but they weren't what I needed. Then I found this product, which I ordered and installed, and now my Altima is back on the road with no valve cover issues!.
For my car, I made a wooden shift knob that I needed to mount to a standard shifter. This was a fantastic solution. Because the pre-applied threadlocker does not work on wood, I had to use epoxy to secure the insert. That was something I had expected to happen.
For a ground source, a 16-hole GM was used. Because most of my fasteners and wire terminals are 6mm, this is ideal.
I have a small handle on an old Italian Silca tire pump. The original plastic handle has a metric-style metric-style metric-style metric-style metric-style I couldn't get rid of the threaded insert. I figured I could cut a broom handle to the length I needed and drill a hole in it for an insert, but the insert was not available at my local hardware store. This insert performed admirably, and I was pleased with the outcome.
I recently used it to repair a drilled-out aluminum thread. I'm pleased with how easily it went in, how secure it appears to be, and how well it holds the new bolt.
They did exactly what they were supposed to do, according to the specifications.
