Although it is a little pricey, the selection for an all-you-can-eat buffet is excellent. Even outside of Amazon, the chances of finding a kit like this are slim to none - I did a lot of searching. br>br>Product performed well, and the stainless steel threaded inserts did not strip during installation or removal to realign and reinstall. These are preferred over other brass metric sizing options because they are harder and less likely to strip. br>br>Tip - If you are looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative If you use a drill to drive these down, make sure you apply enough downward pressure to avoid stripping the drive tool insert. If the threaded insert is installed incorrectly, simply apply sufficient downward pressure and remove the insert with a drill while gradually increasing the speed. When drilling in or removing something, don't increase the drill speed right away. Before increasing the speed, make sure you have sufficient momentum and the drive tool is stable.
Trying to use these shoddy threaded inserts, I ruined a brand new skateboard deck. After the second attempt to drill the holes, the bit included in this kit bent. I continued with a deeper bit, but the included flanged bit in this kit also freaked out and bent, leaving the threaded insert about 4mm outside of the hole. It's now impossible to leave or drive into the deck. This kit is a complete waste of money; if you use it for anything, you will be extremely disappointed. What a squander of cash and time.
These inserts hold tight and work well if you can get them into hardwood. The installation kit, on the other hand, isn't worth the money because the tool included will easily strip. It'll be useless as soon as it does. The installation tool is shaped like a screwdriver bit and must fit into a shallow notch in the insert; the insert is made of hard stainless steel, but the installation tool is not. What is the solution? a 10-cent piece of paper 32 Insert the bolt completely into the insert, then drive both the bolt and the insert into the hardwood, then remove the bolt (you'll need a bolt that can be gripped tightly to do this). A bolt with a hex head or a square drive bit will suffice.
I had to return it because my circumstances had changed, but it's a fantastic tool with high-quality parts and components. If I ever require something similar in the future, I will not hesitate to purchase it.
