The number 40 bit broke on the first hole, but rather than completely blaming the bit, I have to take credit for the assist. It's used in a 90-degree drill attachment, and instead of maintaining speed and pulling it out, I let the drill slow down and didn't apply enough pressure to the 90-degree drill attachment, causing the bit to twist and snap. br>br>I've been drilling a lot of holes with a regular number 40 bit, and it flexes but doesn't break, so yes, I believe the bit isn't very strong. It didn't have the same sharpness as my other bits, and drilling through 1/8" aluminum took about 10 minutes. br>br>By being more cautious with the 30 and 20, I was able to keep them from twisting and they haven't yet broken.
I only have these drill bits because I was fortunate enough to win an auction for a drill that uses them. I just wanted a sample set of bits in case I ever need to use these bits in a confined space. I've saved your address in case I need to order more sizes in the future.
For my offset, this threaded end is too large.
These drill bits helped me save time and effort when building an RV. There are four aircraft that were built by themselves. Thanks.
All four were easily broken, and the bits could as well have been made of copper because they were so cheap and soft. Do not make a purchase.
