Threaded parts on left and right sides are removed
Extractors are marked with the size of the drill bit and the recommended size of the cutter

Questions & Answers

Do these belong to the left or right Does your drill bit come in left-handed format It should be a lot of time when the drill bit bites and the screw comes out when the drill bit bites. ?

In order to make something clear, 'Bob Vila "Tool Junkie"' is apparently referring to a different tool than the one I see most often, and the one most other answers to this question are referring to. In the current image you can see a set of drill bits as well as a set of spiral extractors -- Not the square type of bread 'Bob' was referring to. When you look closely at the drill bits, you can see that they spiral in the opposite direction from the ones found in a traditional drill. The left-handed candies are those that are left-handed Drill bits for the right hand.

Would someone be able to tell me where these are made and what is written Thanks a lot! ?

It appears that the case was made in China, even though they appear to be made in various locations. As far as the left hand drill bits are concerned, they are stamped USA, whereas the extractors are stamped Brazil.

What are the advantages of buying American made products?

The product is made from foreign components in the USA.

Does the bottom of the reverse drill bit have a hexagonal shape or a smooth surface?

There is no roughness to the reverse drill bit. In this extractor, the edges are squared off.

5/5

I'm in awe! Last night, I screwed up in a big way. My car need a new big brake kit, and I made a mistake as I was assembling the kit The bolt was overtorqued as a result of reading the instructions. The bolt I snapped off the head of was so far over the top. This stainless steel sucker was a bit small (1/4") in diameter. I cut through the screw with a 7/64" bit and tried to extract the screw with an extraction tool from the auto parts store for over an hour yesterday. I had just used red LocTite to seal the threads, so this thing was going to get stuck hard and fast. Efforts to the best of my ability. Having noticed that the threads on that extractor were just turning dull and flattening together, I turned My door was ringing 20 hours later when these were delivered. My fingers went into the hole I had drilled yesterday and I dropped the #2 extractor in it. I walked out to the garage. Tapped it with a hammer a couple of times and tapped a T-bolt to it The tap handle was shaped and a 1/4 turn was given. It was tapped three times I repeated the process four more times and gave it one more quarter As soon as the screw was removed, it began to come In less than 2 minutes, I had removed the screw stub from the box, enabling me to move on with my project. It's nice to have a nice set of extractors in a sturdy box, just waiting for the next screw to turn I. - Edited to add A week after receiving the box, I remembered I needed to replace a rusted off bolt on a valve cover, so I pulled it out. Using my drill, I drilled out the bolt (the head was torn off by someone else), dropped the tiny extractor in the hole, and then tapped it with a tap. Tap to play With a tap, I was able to unscrew the fastner without a problem. The odds are in your favor with 2 for 2.

I spent $125 on the best purchase I ever made
5/5

I am in love with this set. had rounded off the head of an external Torx bolt in my engine. This set of tools was an excellent tool for removing Listed below are the steps I follow. The first thing I did was to shave off the head of the bolt with Two, I punched a hole in the middle of the bolt with a punch tool and hit it hard with a hammer (it's best to use a heavy one). For those who do not own a punch, you can use the smallest drill bit included in the set to make a starter hole. You can also create a slot across the bolt with a dremel tool (like the slot on a flathead screwdriver). Second, there is a chart on the inside cover where you can match the drilling bit with the bolt you're trying to remove. Pick the correct bit and start drilling at dead center. Be sure you drill straight, because if you hit the threads, you're out of luck. Due to the left handed nature of the bits, it must be drilled in reverse to successfully lodge. It would be helpful if you practice on a piece of scrap wood or cardboard first to see what direction-you need to drill to make the bit You turn the drill in reverse to do this. For drilling the bolt you are trying to extract, I recommend pulsing your drill to ensure you keep the bit fixed to the center, so it does not end up angled into the thread. The depth of your search does not need to be excessive. The bolt extractor you need for this set will match the bolt size after you have drilled out about 1/2 cm to 3/4 cm.

There are two types of bolt There are two types of extractors type extractors and type socket extractors. There is a There are types that need An extractor needs to be manually turned with the help of a tool or vice grips. I think socket extractors (shown in my photos) are more convenient. The sockets require the use of a SAE 1/2" ratchet and a 3/8" Put the extractor of your choice into the hole you made with the left hand bit, and use a hammer to hammer it in with a hammer. Just a few blows should do. Then attach the socket (or, if you used the T-style, To extract, use vice grips or another tool) and slowly turn the tool in a counter-clockwise If it has loosen, it may be possible to remove the bolt entirely by hand, or you may need to use your tool until it is freed. Finally, to remove the extractor from the damaged bolt, you can use two vice grips or a socket with By twisting in opposite directions, you will loosen the screw. Last but not least, these tools are made in the United States.

Saved mine $5000 by removing the broken spark plugs instead of pulling the whole head! To extract a spark plug that had broken, I bought the straight flute set
5/5

As I was installing new spark plugs in my ML63 AMG (M156), one of the plugs snapped in half, leaving the threads in the head (the sound of it snapping is terrible). After searching online for a solution, I found this set, so I decided to give it a shot, still better than $5000 pulling the heads off I got up at five in the morning the next day, took my tool bag, tape, WD-40, and a hammer with a rubber head, and set off. Delivery took 5 days from the US to Saudi Arabia. The size of the ceramic insulator was compared with that of the extractors to determine which was the most appropriate. Wrapping some tape around the extractor made it easier to hold it in place.
Initially, I tried to use #5, but it refused to bite, and I didn't want to push Then I tried #4, and it bit into the threads immediately without ever being tapped. But I gave it a very slight tap with the hammer just to make sure it's tight, and then I used a 3/8 socket wrench + 6" extension + U-shaped handle to make sure that everything was snug. The socket is 10mm 12 points with the joint. When I moved steadily and slowly, I noticed that the rotation resistance was shows that Thank you, Alhamdulillah (praise is due to God)! Now that the threads are out, let's discuss! It's a good thing there were no stripped threads, since the plug gave out prior to Here are a few points to consider 1 - As for WD-40, I didn't use it because it wasn't necessary, but I would imagine penetration oil would be required if the plugs were rusted/old. 1- Two Be careful when using the hammer, gently tapping, but 3 - To get started, turn the wrench slowly and steadily to avoid forcing it. A slight tap on the wrench with the hammer (counter clockwise) can be helpful. I see 4
It probably does not matter or matter to you, but the plugs are NGK Iridium. I wish you the best of.
