I have been a hobby machine maker/fabricator for about 10 years now. For starter drills, I used to have to buy types that started at 10-20 each size. To do a lot of work on hardened steel, and some with titanium, I used to buy the ones starting at $30 each. The two will dull your tooling irrespective of whether it is expensive or not. My set of these holds up about the same as the other ones, but I get it for half the price of a nicer set.

I found them to be of poor quality, the tips of the drills looked as if they had been sharpened by hand. They had been thrown into a bag with grease In addition, since a center drill is the first hole to be drilled in a series of holes, it must be of the highest quality. You could use them in wood if you wanted to! The chances of them being successful are very small. As much as I dislike to criticize something, if it isn't there then it isn't.

Neither are great nor are they terrible. The old adage, "you get what you pay for", rings true here! It is possible that I would have upscaled the quality of this purchase if given the chance.
