The quality is poor for the price. It's the same problem I've seen mentioned by others. There was rust inside the tool holder, and the hex on the pilot set screw was stripped out and in the tool holder. There was also no way to clamp on the pilot because the treads weren't deep enough. As a result, I have a lot of equipment and machine tools at my disposal. A drill was used to remove the stripped/seized set screw, followed by a tap to chase the hole. My M4X0 needed to be replaced. The set screw has a diameter of 7. While I was able to use this cutter, I had to fix it first. If Harbor Freight had sold it, it probably would have been half the price. If Amazon is going to sell cheap Chinese garbage, they ought to charge a price.
It is doubtful if the quality is good here. As far as I can tell, the bits are produced in a certain populous country in the far east. The bits were placed in the bit holders, and I had to drill a hole to fit each individual bit. They couldn't fit because the pieces were only a couple thousandths too small. There is a sloppy fit between the pilot shafts and cutters, allowing for eccentric holes to appear. Despite my good intentions, I have not yet tested them with any of the more noteworthy materials It is a promising sign for steel, though I am a little pessimistic. The same goes for eBay. I would search for American made pilot bits on the auction sites.
A rusty interior and a screw that couldn't be screwed in far enough to hold the guide in place made it impossible to use it. It is possible that the threaded holes were not completely cut, or perhaps the rust interfered with the threading. As a result of trying to screw the set screw in far enough to engage the guide, the screw has become irretrievably tangled. As for the guides, bits, and holder, they all seemed to be of a decent quality, but I haven't got to use them to cut anything else.
I liked the fast shipping and the good buy.
However, the grub (or set) screws on mine were pretty shabby. They were easily replaced, however! I also found the pilot guide shaft on the 1/4" pilot a bit short. One was 1/4" longer than the others. Quite the oddity! When drilling with a drill press, it was difficult to get the pilot to stay in the holder. Having said that, for a set of this kind inexpensively, it's a good bargain for the casual hobbyist.
I love it! Aluminium is no match for these bits since they cut just fine. It's great to mix and match the cutters and pilots.
However, both the grubscrew and hex wrench weren't as nice as they should be. * * After changing them, the tools work just fine.
Although the opportunity to interchange pilots and cutters is nice, I feel that this is a cheap tool with a cheap tool's.
