Questions & Answers

Has this product changed in any way? I've been using it for years. awful. ?

I'm on the verge of canceling my subscription due to the foul odor. I'll preface this by saying that I understand that everyone smells things differently, but I believe the new scent smells like urine; in fact, I assumed a warehouse cat peed on the first box until the second box arrived smelling exactly the same! It's terrible! I've been using them for a long time. It was a huge let down.

Ok, so I'm a Batchler who doesn't know much about laundry. Do I need both these and liquid fabric softener, or can I just use these?

Because BOTH would serve the same purpose, it's either one or the other. My front-load washer's dispenser clogged up due to wax-like build-up in the liquid softners. The dryer sheets also help me to be more precise when I'm using them. You may want to put two or three sheets in the dryer for some laundry, and there are many things in life that do not require the use of fabric softener. Microfibers and things like real down and down/feather blends aren't supposed to have softener in them, so liquid is a no-no, but a sheet or half-sheet can sometimes help soften the nylon fabric of a down jacket or comforter without causing damage to the down insulation. However, nylon can attract a lot of static, especially in low-humidity winters, so a small amount of dryer sheet can help with that or take the edge off noisy nylon jackets rubbing together while walking. In any case, either method may cause your dryer to become coated with softener over time, necessitating a thorough cleaning with a cloth and soapy water. If you wash microfiber clothes used to clean windows or cars, don't use softner because it will leave streaks on the windows. To get rid of it, I wash a batch of microfibers on sanitize, which is VERY HOT water followed by a cold rinse and air drying rather than using the dryer. We have very hard well water, so microfibers are affected by it as well, and it's a bit of a catch-22 as the saying goes up here, or six of one and half a dozen of the other when it comes to keeping microfiber clothes, throw blankets, and fluffy jackets soft and anti-static but not too soft. Hope this helps you out with this subject, or to put it another way, by now you must be an EXPERT on this subject after 6+ years, but someone new may read your Q/A and find it useful. Stay safe, everyone. This has been a strange and challenging year at times. I am thinking of you.

Is it true that the fragrance-free repels insects as well?

Yes, if you place them in the right places where you might have an issue, they will repel insects. In the summer, I use these to freshen the air by attaching them to a free-standing fan. While the fan is running, I add 5 at a time. It aids in making stuffiness and bland air appear much clearer. They aren't suitable for use in the dryer; however. I enjoy a light scent, but not one that contains febreeze. The scent does not appeal to me. Overall, I'm happy with the unscented sheets for all of the reasons stated above. I hope this has been of assistance. By the way, you can put these in front of your vents in the winter to make the air appear cleaner than just hot air blowing out of them. I keep them around the house in case there are any insects, and I've had no problems with them. Pesticide sprays are not as effective. A lot better for you.

Is it okay if I use these to make baby clothes?

I'd say yes if you're talking about Bounce Free and Gentle Dryer sheets. If you're going to use dryer sheets on baby clothes, I recommend Bounce Free and Gentle. My relatives and I Perfumes and other additives found in most dryer sheets are extremely irritating to my skin. Our clothes smell great and are static-free thanks to the Bounce Free and Gentle dryer sheets, which do not cause any allergic or skin sensitivity reactions. Tide Free is now our only option. We haven't had any sneezing or itching thanks to Clear and Bounce.

To begin, let me state that I am extremely fortunate in that I am free of any
5/5

To begin, let me say that I'm extremely fortunate in that I don't have any skin or perfume allergies, so I don't buy these out of necessity; instead, my husband and I try to use organic cleaning products whenever possible. Obviously, this isn't one of those products, but fabric softeners in general can have such a strong scent that it can slap you in the face instead of just being a simple clean scent. I've tried other brands, such as Meyers, in the past, but they're just not as effective, so I've found this to be a good compromise. This is a great deal because you get a lot of sheets and they last a long time instead of having to go to the store every time you run out. If you're looking for a high-quality dryer sheet that doesn't have a strong floral scent, these are ideal. br>br>I also buy this particular brand because I use it when I have particularly greasy pans or baking dishes. Fill the pan halfway with warm water, place a dryer sheet on top, and soak it in the water for half an hour. I saw that tip online years ago and tried it, and it worked perfectly, so Bounce is a two-for-one winner.

No Scent
5/5

Works. Are you a fan of soft laundry? Do you have a problem with static cling? Do you despise scent as much as a thousand stars despise the sun? If that's the case, you've come to the right place. br>We despise scents, so finding a fabric softener that isn't Lavender or "White Linen in the Morning Breeze of the Bahamas" is a tall order. " (what? ) Yeah. No. This stuff works great and has no odor. It might make clothes a little softer, so we use one and a half sheets for larger loads, but it's worth it. We'd be devastated if it ever went out of production.

This is true perfume
5/5

We were hesitant to order them after reading some reviews that claimed they were scented. However, I can confirm that the box I received does not contain any additional perfume scent. They now have a scent, even if it isn't "scented" with perfume. It's very subtle, doesn't transfer to the laundry, and is barely discernible. The scent reminds me of "unscented" soaps such as Ivory or Dove Sensitive Skin. I hope that made sense and that this information is useful to anyone thinking about purchasing these.

It's better to buy it in a store rather than on Amazon
3/5

I've been using these for a long time. I have extremely sensitive skin and am unable to use any products that contain fragrance or other additives. They've always done a fantastic job. The lack of stars is due to the fact that this was my first Amazon purchase, and they smell AWFUL. Is it similar to gasoline or smoke? I'm not sure what it is, but it's revolting. Those who are in- This is not an issue at our store, and it has never been. br>br>It could have been a batch that was improperly stored; I'm not sure, but I'm not going to buy these from Amazon again. It's not worth the trouble.

BUYING IS A MISTAKE - It stinks a lot
3/5

These dryer sheets are what I use to dry the clothes of my small children. I received this box yesterday and noticed a musty odor as soon as I opened it. I compared it to a box I already had (bought from a store), and while my store-bought box had no scent (as you'd expect from unscented dryer sheets), this one had a strong odor that was distinct from my other box. I took a few sheets out of the stack and sniffed them - Unfortunately, the entire contents of the box, including the box itself, had a foul odor. I opened the box, and I'm afraid I won't be able to return it - 240 sheets were thrown away in a huge waste. I can't imagine using these and smelling them when they're hot from the dryer. My children's clean clothes would smell musty and filthy after a few washes: (On the box, the only difference was that the store-bought box was "fabricated in Canada," while the Amazon box was "fabricated in the United States. ") " I'm kicking myself for not getting this! br>br>NEW ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - I've made the decision to return this defective item - They don't charge for return shipping, but they do take a $2 deduction. 00 less than what I paid - ENTIRELY FRAUDULENT. I received a defective product, had to search for a UPS location, and they KEEP MY MONEY! They appear to sell both open and unopened boxes. They make money on the ones that are open because I get $6 back and they re-sell them. They can be sold for $7. RIPOFF! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!.

It's free and clear, and it works
5/5

Because I have diabetes, I've had to resort to free/clear diets. There isn't a strong smell. However, it is very effective at preventing static. After a few uses, I realized I needed to replace my towels. The robes have a softer feel to them. The free/clear, on the other hand, is the one that keeps you from scratching. Furthermore, there is no discernible odor. I prefer a neutral odor in my clothing.

It is beneficial to the skin of my children
5/5

As much as I wish our local warehouse wholesaler would carry these (they only carry the scented variety), they don't. I have six children, several of whom have keratosis pilaris, and I love the Subscribe and Save price. Using non-abrasive and gentle laundry products appears to help some people. When I use scented products versus items like this, I notice a significant difference.
